News Article Did you know that Hal Spence will be dearly missed?
posted: Jul 21st, 2017 You may have noticed over the months and years that I usually stay away from the bad stuff in Turning Points. I don't like to cover the dark events of the sport that happen once in a while, the BSBD stuff. I don't mind a good, hard and controversial discussion at all, however, there is more than enough BD stuff in the media and there is no need to add to the daily overflow of bad news. This time, I cannot manage to stay away from bad news, and I convinced myself that it even makes sense to pick up the BSBD story for a very simple reason. Hal Spence was such a positive participant in the sport... (more)
News Article Did you know that Seattle Swift lost six points and 15 seconds of working time?
posted: Jul 20th, 2017 Teams of the Northwest Skydiving League were back in action last weekend, and two of them competed in the AAA Class, together with two British teams. The AAA Class leaderboard did not need any adjustments, despite the different number of rounds at both locations, and Seattle Swift took the top position with a new team record average for a AAA Class meet. Swift improved the June average by almost two points and has arrived at the 13+ level. The forecast progression seems to continue as it did last year on the way to the 1st place at the USPA Nationals, where Swift competed as a guest team... (more)
News Article Did you know that last weekend's AA Class leaderboard features international top competition?
posted: Jul 19th, 2017 Seattle Swift responded quickly last weekend and sent the next strong message to potential AAA/Advanced Class medal contenders at the USPA Nationals this year. The 13.0 average is on the leaderboard, and only a 7-pointer in Round 4 did not allow the NWSL Swift (Seattle) to score higher than MWSL Swift (CSC) a week earlier. The AA Class and Rookie Class teams outscored AAA and A last weekend, and the Sun Path Products NSL News will go back later to the other two leaderboards. The weather situation at the different meet locations allowed the completion between only two rounds at Skydive... (more)
News Article Did you know that NMP PCH HayaBusa gave away a round to the Qatar Tigers in Germany?
posted: Jul 19th, 2017 It was almost exactly a year ago when the Sun Path Products NSL News reported an "undetected move" by the Qatar Tigers. The world class team from the Arabian Peninsula, who have moved themselves up the leaderboards year after year to finally becoming a 4-way medal contender, had competed at the annual military CISM world championships where they finished in 2nd place behind NMP PCH HayaBusa with another impressive performance. A few weeks later, the Qatar Tigers finished in 5th place at the FAI Mondial 2016 with a 22.6 average, the best placement and average ever of a team from Qatar at a... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Indoor Cloud League July competition started early?
posted: Jul 17th, 2017 The Indoor Cloud League had a very early start into the July competition, even though it was only one score for the A Class sequence that came from Brazil. Harpia is a newly formed team that trains indoor at iFLY Sao Paulo. Adriana Garcia (Point) and Augusto Rosa (Tail) have 4-way veterans Humberto do Prado (Outside Center) and Ricardo Pettená (Inside Center) in their lineup, who both have thousands of jumps and plenty of additional tunnel training time. Humberto do Prado is a 6-time Brazilian champion of the earlier days, and Ricardo Pettená trained and competed with DeLand VNE in the... (more)
News Article Did you know that NSL-TV features Chris Farina with CSC Swift?
posted: Jul 16th, 2017 The Sun Path Products NSL News is quickly going back to last weekend's leaderboard before new scores will be posted very soon. Midwest Skydiving League team CSC Swift was the only AAA Class team and completed all ten rounds on their home turf at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center. CSC Swift is not the only team with this name, and the other Swift of the Northwest Skydiving League, Seattle Swift, posted some AAA Class scores earlier this year. Both teams competed in different categories last year, and they ended up on different leaderboards at the USPA Nationals. Seattle Swift finished in... (more)
