News Article Did you know that Skydive Spaceland-Houston is hosting the Pre-Nationals 2017 this weekend?
posted: Aug 17th, 2017 The USPA Nationals 2017 are scheduled for the end of September, and the US and guest teams are in their final preparations for the event. The NSL News mentioned earlier that NMP PCH HayaBusa will compete in Perris, together with their 8-way partners ISR FireFlash. This means that the Golden Knights will not only have their annual meeting with Arizona Airspeed's flexible 8-way lineup of different generations. The Belgian Fly-In Machine 44 will also compete with the US Army team for the second time this year, after winning the bronze medals at the FAI World Cup 2017. Many teams from Texas have... (more)
News Article Did you know that 4-way families seem to go stronger and higher?
posted: Aug 16th, 2017 Sounds like a rosy and hippie-ish headline, doesn't it? Yes, we ARE all close friends and share something very special in an extraordinary environment. But this is not what I mean; I am talking about real family this time. Most of the regulars at SKYLEAGUE.COM are familiar with the most prominent family members who share 4-way competition with each other. I have been throwing in the names and relationships whenever they came up on random occasions. They always catch my attention, as I find them very special. It does not seem to be so extraordinary that family members are interested in each... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Golden Knights move on in the new "Decade of Excellence"?
posted: Aug 15th, 2017 The 8-way results at the FAI World Cup 2017 did not reveal any unexpected developments for the present and the near future. The Golden Knights 8-way machine is running without any hiccups and as smoothly as the Formation Skydiving competition community has become used to. Coach Kurt Isenbarger has fully integrated the two new members, Jennifer Davidson and David Flynn, and the new lineup is on its way to set new 8-way standards on the 24+ level. Only the shortened 3-round meet might have been in the way to post a new record average already in Saarlouis last week. However, the USPA Nationals... (more)
News Article Did you know that four nations each placed two teams in the Top 10?
posted: Aug 14th, 2017 It happened as it it probably had to be expected. The award ceremony of the FAI World Cup 2017 was weathered out just as much as a significant part of the competition was, and the participants woke up on Sunday morning to fine meet weather. The conditions on Monday were even better. However, there was a great atmosphere at the award ceremony, despite the poor weather conditions and the lowest number of completed rounds at a world meet or world cup in history. The participants at these top events are mostly experienced competitors who are well aware of the fact that weather is a meet factor... (more)
News Article Did you know that Belgium won two sets of FAI medals for the first time?
posted: Aug 12th, 2017 No competition rounds followed after the last update on Saturday, and the FAI World Cup 2017 was concluded with the lowest number of scoring numbers on the leaderboards in history. Bubble Trouble and Parachute Montreal Fuzion had to be on alert until the official end of the competition at 15.00 PM, as the host was hoping to add the 6th round for both teams as the tie-breaking jump-off round. It did not happen, and the new IPC rules had to be applied for the first time. Judges and jury members kept it as simple as it was possible and went back to Round 5 for the tie-breaking procedure, which... (more)
News Article Did you know that the tie-breaking rules are once again facing a reality check?
posted: Aug 12th, 2017 The weather situation is still the same at the FAI World Cup 2017. Meet director and host are trying hard to at least complete the open rounds for the final standings, and the teams and competitors cooperate despite miserable jumping conditions. One event may have come to a conclusion after five rounds, at least as of completed rounds, even though the host is still trying to move forward with Round 6. The seven teams in 4-way Women have all completed Round 5, and the current situation on the top of the leaderboard behind the French Weembi Girls is similar to the tied 1st place after Round 2...
