Did you know that France is in serious 8-way trouble? posted: Aug 11th, 2017 The Golden Knights were the only 8-way team who completed Round 3 on Thursday. The Belgian Fly-In Machine 44 followed up on Friday afternoon, which has been the only additional 8-way jump so far.
NMP PCH HayaBusa's 8-way team, with ISR FireFlash as the second half of the lineup, made Round 3 with a slightly different lineup. Sven Ibens was not available on Friday, and HayaBusa's former inside center Luc Verstrepen filled the slot.
He was in the air only in 8-way so far, as the 4-way teams have not added a lot of scoring numbers to the leaderboard.

Did you know that Scott Janise is back in camera action for the Golden Knights? posted: Aug 11th, 2017 The host of the FAI World Cup 2017 is seriously challenged by the weather conditions. The window of four hours on Thursday was used efficiently with all fire power of the three Cessna Caravans in Saarlouis. However, the momentum was over again on Friday morning when the drop zone was covered by fog.
The forecast indicates that the jump planes will get back in the air later in the morning for another few hours and before more rainy weather will probably interfere once again.

Did you know that there could be a tie-breaker between RealFly-Sion and NMP PCH HayaBusa after Round 2? posted: Aug 10th, 2017 The weather has not improved yet at the FAI World Cup 2017, even though some additional scores have been added to the leaderboard.
The judges continued to post the scores for the two 4-way rounds that were completed by the teams without double duties in 4-way and 8-way on Wednesday. Some of the 4-way teams completed Round 3, other ones even made it to Round 4, and the leaderboard reflects a quite scrambled situation in the rankings at this point in time.

Did you know that Round 1 creates the worst and the best feelings for a competitor? posted: Aug 9th, 2017 The 8-way teams have started with their 10-round competition at the FAI World Cup 2017, while the 4-way teams continue with more rounds on Wednesday.
All 4-way teams have completed two rounds, which was the minimum plan for the Wednesday schedule. Meet director Dr. Rainer "Exi" Hoenle called the 8-way teams to the boarding area in the afternoon when the weather conditions made it possible. There were several re-jumps in 4-way when teams had meteorological conditions that caused point deductions for non-judgeable formations or inters.

Did you know that the 4-way competition in Saarlouis is in full swing? posted: Aug 9th, 2017 The competition is finally in full swing at the FAI World Cup 2017, and the first scores are posted. The teams are in the air for Round 2, while the judges are still working on the numbers for Round 1.
The scores of Round 1 offer the first opportunity to measure the situation of the meets within the meet. NMP PCH HayaBusa might have more competition for the Open Class top spot as expected, as the French national team, Real-Fly Sion, had the perfect start into a competition.
HayaBusa squeezed the completion of the second Photon of Block 11 into the working time after losing a point earlier.... (more)
Did you know that Gwyneth is the most colorful Chimera fan? posted: Aug 8th, 2017 The weather forecast for the southwestern area of Germany was very accurate, unfortunately. The competition draw for the FAI World Cup 2017 took place on Monday afternoon with perfect weather conditions, after a training day without any problems.
The teams were called to the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar for a 9:00 AM takeoff on Tuesday morning, even though the weather forecast was not very promising at all.
It turned out that the meteorologists had it all right for Tuesday, as overcast skies and rain showers did not allow any competition activities, except for dirtdives, creeping sessions... (more)
