News Article Did you know that FAI/IPC participation of Italian teams is in jeopardy this year?
posted: Jan 12th, 2018 Italy has been a solid part of the Formation Skydiving competition world and history. In fact, there has been at least an Italian 4-way team at each FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving since 1985. Italian 4-way teams have won bronze medals for their country in 1991 and 2006, and eX3MO's 8-way lineup was one of the very few countries that could even steal an 8-way bronze medal from the three 8-way powerhouses in the world (Unites States - France - Russia) in 2008. Unfortunately, this clean series of uninterrupted participation of Italian 4-way teams at the world meets is now in jeopardy.... (more)
News Article Did you know that Vladimir Pavlenko competed the first time for Black Cat last year?
posted: Jan 11th, 2018 Black Cat could not be rewarded with the unofficial title of the Ultimate Formation Skydiving Competition Team of the Year, as the NSL News reported on 29 December 2017. NMP PCH HayaBusa claimed this special honor, as well. It still does not take away any of the impressive achievements that the Russian 4-way and 8-way competitors put together during the 2017 season. Also, it is probably acceptable to end up only behind the reigning indoor and outdoor world champions from Belgium in the most challenging and accomplishing part of the world rankings. The Black Cat members could have ended up... (more)
News Article Did you know that iFLY SF Bay and iFLY Sacramento have joined the Indoor Cloud League 1000+ club?
posted: Jan 10th, 2018 The Indoor Cloud League 2017 leaderboard for the 12+ flying chambers is complete after the latest submissions of December scores and videos from Northern California. The iFLY SF Bay and iFLY Sacramento teams battled once again for the regional top spot, and the Florida Skydiving League team at iFLY Orlando finished right between the two west coast teams. Lori Connor offered two opportunities at each location for the NCSL indoor teams and competitors, and the groups were completely separate this time, with no participants switching sides in either direction. The iFLY SF Bay team posted... (more)
News Article Did you know that Aerokart Ak'demie 3 was the youngest AAA Class team at Weembinamic?
posted: Jan 9th, 2018 The leaderboard of the Weembinamic 2017 included the name of a French 4-way Junior team, the third lineup of the Aerokart Ak'demie project. The two other Ak'demie teams have received more attention by the NSL News throughout and after their battle for the top spot at the French Indoor Nationals 2017. It was the French qualification event for the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017 where only one team would represent France in 4-way Junior. The Ak'demie 2 lineup won by two points and traveled to Montreal to become the new 4-way Junior world champions. Both other Ak'demie teams have continued with... (more)
News Article Did you know that a new 8-way team tries to compete for Germany in Australia?
posted: Jan 8th, 2018 German 8-way teams have always been a part of the competition right behind the medal positions at FAI World Championships of Formation Skydiving, even though the country has a successful 8-way history far back. The national 8-way team was in the race for medals in 1975 (4th) and won FAI silver medals in Australia 1977, one single point behind the U.S. team. Then the competition for world meet medals came to an end and has never returned for Germany yet. The EADS 2008 linep came closest to medal contention with a 4th place (18.0 - 16.3) behind eX3MO's 8-way team in Maubeuge, France. With... (more)
News Article Did you know that the World Tunnel League December competition was a Czech sweep?
posted: Jan 7th, 2018 The Hurricane Factory team won the Indoor Cloud League competition of the 2017 season, as the NSL News reported on 5 January 2018, despite a weaker performance in December that allowed Paraclete XP and the Florida 14+ team to place ahead of the Czechs. However, the 10-round competition of the World Tunnel League in December did not reflect a weak Czech month at all. It was in fact a Czech December sweep, as the top spots in all four categories were taken by Czech 4-way teams at the Hurricane Factory. HF Flying Circus and HF Chicks finished in the two AAA Class top spots after an exciting... (more)
