Did you know that new meet videos from the Hurricane Factory include Martina Vavackova's 20 AAA Class rounds? posted: Jan 18th, 2018 The Florida Skydiving League opened the Indoor Cloud League 14+ leaderboard of the 2018 season last week at iFLY Tampa, while the Brazilian team Harpia posted the first scoring number on the 12+ leaderboard of the new year.
Harpia joined the Indoor Cloud League by posting A Class scores throughout the 2017 season and is now switching to the AA Class sequences.
The Brazilian team is planning to attend the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship in the AA/Intermediate Class next month and uses the Indoor Cloud League sequences for competition practice.

Did you know that the World Challenge 2018 includes 8-way competition on Sunday? posted: Jan 17th, 2018 The World Challenge 2018 at Twinwoods Adventure in Bedford is once again offering something new this year. For the first time in the World Challenge history, teams will also have the opportunity to compete in 8-way while visiting Bedford.
The flying chambers of the larger wind tunnels in the world have become popular for 8-way training and competition, and host Paul Mayer has eventually added the event to the meet agenda of his 16-foot flying chamber, as well.

Did you know that the original Airspeed lineup was six points short of three consecutive 4-way gold medals? posted: Jan 16th, 2018 The NSL News update on 27 December 2017 pointed out that three NMP PCH HayaBusa members (Dennis Praet, David and Andy Grauwels) could re-write 4-way history after winning their third consecutive 4-way world championship title together this year in Australia.
This will be the unique achievement for a 3-way. The most successful 2-way will still be Philippe Schorno and Eric Fradet who won 4-way medals consecutively for France in 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1993.
The strong French 2-way connection of this time period was in fact the reason for the start of the Arizona Airspeed team franchise in 1994.... (more)
Did you know that the Shamrock Showdown will define the 2018 starting point to FAI outdoor gold medals? posted: Jan 15th, 2018 The history of French national 4-way teams at the Shamrock Showdown in DeLand began with the first visit in 2008. National coach Jerome David sent his 4-way Open Class team to Florida in March to face off with Arizona Airspeed's Odyssey lineup at the beginning of the world meet season. The outcome in Maubeuge 2008 turned out to be the same as in DeLand, only even closer with a 1-point difference after eight rounds.
Both teams were back in DeLand a year later, and the start of the 2009 season featured a 3-point battle over ten rounds, with Airspeed once again on the top at the end.

Did you know that HF Flying Circus outscored the Bad Boys for the first time in a 10-round meet? posted: Jan 14th, 2018 The first scores of the new year came from the Czech Republic where 13 teams applied the January draw of the World Tunnel League.
It was the third meet of the Czech indoor winter season, and it featured a great start for HF Flying Circus. In fact, the January 2018 meet eventually turned out to become the first time that Flying Circus, with son Jakub Klapka in the lineup, finished ahead of the HF Bad Boys, with father Jan Klapka in the tail slot.
The Bad Boys, still the Czech 4-way indoor and outdoor champions, actually finished in 3rd place. However, it was not the first time that the HF... (more)
Did you know that Airbus and AtomiX will meet each other three times this year? posted: Jan 13th, 2018 The 8-way situation in Germany was the topic of the NSL News story on 8 January 2018. Most of the times, there has been a direct connection between 8-way and 4-way in Germany in the past, which could be different this year. The two top contenders, reigning champion Airbus and challenger AtomiX YUU, both focus only on 4-way competition in 2018.
