Did you know that Olivier Henaff presents Aerodyne Aerokart's first seven rounds in Dubai? posted: Dec 6th, 2011 It's all over at the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011, at least in the 4way Formation Skydiving competition. No changes were expected any longer at this point in time on the top of the leaderboards. It was still an exciting finish in the Open Class competition.
The last round with the slowest sequence of the 8-round meet was the biggest test for the 4way teams. The audience had a lot of confidence in the top teams, as the latest results of the NSL Poll are showing. The input by Thomas Hughes must have inspired some voters, as the trust in 20-pointers by the top teams for Round 8 went up after the... (more)
Did you know that Thomas Hughes expects France and Belgium to beat the 20 points in Round 8? posted: Dec 5th, 2011 The NSL News mentioned earlier today that Arizona Airspeed's Center Outside, Thomas Hughes, accepted the invitation for an online NSL Talk session. Topic was, of course, the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011.
Thomas Hughes had spoken earlier with SDC Rhythm XP member Rob Radez who said that at least his team expected to end up as far behind the top teams from France and Belgium as the leaderboard shows at the moment. The big question is where Airspeed would be at this point in time if they competed in Dubai, as well.
Thomas Hughes said that his team will begin tomorrow with the first training after... (more)
Did you know that teams in Dubai have a whole day off to prepare for the slowest and last sequence of the competition? posted: Dec 5th, 2011 Monday is an off-day for the 4way teams at the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011. It's a good timing since it is a windy day, and most of the other events are on stand-by. Max Thiele reported from Dubai that it is still not clear whether Round 8 will be jumped tomorrow or later. An official annoucement in the evening will tell more about the Tuesday agenda.
It is not too diffcult for the participants to kill the time. Teams and competiors enjoy a day on the beach or downtown. There are enough opportunities for sightseeing and shopping, and there is also a waterpark if it gets too hot and the beach... (more)
Did you know that the most exciting battle in Dubai is for the 11th place? posted: Dec 4th, 2011 Round 7 at the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011 went by like a breeze. The teams in the same boat in both categories, NMP-PCH Hayabusa in the Open Class and Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders in the female category, did not get to attack or any closer. To the opposite, the leaders moved further away.
NSL News correspondent in Dubai, Qatar Falcons member Max Thiele, mentioned after Round 6 that the sequences of Round 7 and Round 8 do not really invite for a charge. However, he also said that Hayabusa is ready to give it a try anyway, while the French female lineup needed help from the British Bodyflight... (more)
Did you know that NMP-PCH Hayabusa and Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders are in the same boat after Round 6? posted: Dec 3rd, 2011 The scores of Round 5 and Round 6 did not change the slightest thing between Aerodyne Aerokart and NMP-PCH Hayabusa in the 4way Open Class competition of the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011. The Belgian team is now right on pace with France.
Hayabusa's Tail Roy Janssen told NSL News correspondent Max Thiele that the sequences of both rounds did not offer a real opportunity for a charge. Both sequences had memory and slot switchers, and both top contenders handled them with caution. There was more potential for damage than for a significant gain.
The Top 4 teams all together combined for only... (more)
Did you know that SDC Rhythm XP is the only top team with clean score sheets after Round 4? posted: Dec 2nd, 2011 Four rounds are complete on both Formation Skydiving events at the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011, and the last round must have brought back some hope for NMP-PCH Hayabusa. Aerodyne Aerokart had won each round so far, before and after penalties, as the extended leaderboard shows.
NSL News correspondent Max Thiele saw the jump live on DZ-TV in Dubai and was impressed: "Hayabusa really had an incredible Round 4. It was a perfect jump, probably one of the best meet jumps for the team in a long time."
He said that France had a good round too but was slower with Block 2. Both teams were caught with... (more)
