News Article Did you know that the 8way records will probably fall in 2012?
posted: Dec 10th, 2011 The NSL News story on 29 November 2011 began with some whining: "It is difficult for the NSL News to keep up with all the events that provide so much content and footage for stories. The coverage of the USPA Nationals 2011 was far from complete when SkyQuest 2011 required new attention." Then came the ISR Grand Prix a week later, then the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011, and the second half of the 8way competition at the USPA Nationals 2011 between Golden Knights and Sky Panthers Barkli was almost forgotten. Only almost. The videos of Rounds 6 - 10 have now been processed and uploaded and are... (more)
News Article Did you know that all Czech Rookie Class teams scored 10.0 average and higher last weekend?
posted: Dec 9th, 2011 The NSL News reported on 4 December 2011 that the most exciting race at the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011 took place in the middle of the field. Four teams were tied in 11th place after Round 7, and the final round was supposed to shake up this international group. It was the slowest round of the meet, which did not promise to be such a shaker, but it surely was one, at least on this part of the leaderboard. Only two teams were still tied after Round 8, and an additional team had been drawn into this group. It was not the 11th place in contention any longer, as the 10th place was just one point... (more)
News Article Did you know that the French video of Round 8 may show emergency engineering?
posted: Dec 9th, 2011 The NSL News story on 6 December 2011 included only the competition videos of Aerodyne Aerokart's first seven rounds at the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011. Team videographer Olivier Henaff now kindly followed up and sent the video file of Round 8, which completes the review of the winning French performance in Dubai. Olivier Henaff sent some additional footage, which is telling and entertaining at the same time. The video shows the water landings of the Aerodyne Aerokart members after Round 8 that the NSL News mentioned in the earlier story. NSL News correspondent Max Thiele had taken his own photos... News Article Did you know that the Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders have a message for the female 4way world?
posted: Dec 8th, 2011 The competition in the female 4way category at the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011 ended just as much without any surprises in the last round as it was in the Open Class competition. The experienced Bodyflight competitors from the United Kingdom showed that 4way experience can weigh in quite heavily, even for a pickup team with a lack of training. They dominated the competition over the Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders almost as clearly as Aerodyne Aerokart took the Open Class over NMP-PCH Hayabusa. The French Open Class team won five of the eight rounds and gave away only one. Bodyflight won six rounds... (more)
News Article Did you know that that skydivers should always check the small print in their insurance policies?
posted: Dec 8th, 2011 Tom Claeys is one of the team captains for BJ Worth and his World Team. He has also visited SkyQuest Florida several times as a team captain for the Kaleidoscope Dives, one of the most popular bigway events in the skydiving world. He is from Belgium and usually a part of a larger delegation of Belgian bigway lovers who make the trip to Florida in November year by year. He also visited for SkyQuest 2011 where even two big way groups competed with each other this year in the quest for bigway quality jumps and sequences. One of his friends from Belgium, Sabine Gijzen, was involved in an accident... (more)
News Article Did you know that host and media worked together like a team at the USPA Nationals 2011?
posted: Dec 7th, 2011 The NSL News contribution to the latest issue of the Blue Skies Mag (December 2011) was written after the USPA Nationals 2011 and before the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011. The NSL News coverage of the USPA Nationals was comprehensive and is still not over yet. The 4way competition in Dubai is over too, and the coverage is just as much not even close to being complete. However, Dubai was different since it was not a live coverage. German bronze medalist at the World Cup 2011 Max Thiele did his best to provide up-to-date information and received great feedback for his news service. It was still... (more)
