Did you know that XL is in trouble? posted: Apr 6th, 2013 It has never happened in the history of the World Challenge that XL did not place withing the Top 4 which are traditionally the money slots at Bodyflight Bedford. This time, XL may not have the resources at the end of the meet to buy the beer and celebrate. XL is in trouble.
XL has competed in Bedford with different lineups since 2007 and always won some cash of the total jackpot, sometimes even for the 2nd place. At the moment and after Round 8, XL would end up in 5th place and would go home empty handed.
The XL hopes for the day and the second half of the meet were supported by a great... (more)
Did you know that Dennis Praet still has Round 10 of the Mondial 2012 in his mind? posted: Apr 6th, 2013 The NSL News followed NMP-PCH Hayabusa to the team room after Round 8. It was lunch time, and the leader had a few minutes to share some thoughts with the NSL News and coach Gary Smith who joined the conversation.
Main topic was the Hayabusa scoresheet, which has been looking cleaner than ever at the World Challenge 2013 - at least until Round 7. There was only one single mark by the judges in Round 1.
It was bad timing since a few more marks brought down the score of Round 8. However, Evolution had to deal with the same damage, and nothing changed between the two top teams. Hayabusa has... (more)
Did you know that there is a horse race for the last Top 10 slot? posted: Apr 6th, 2013 The top teams are settling in their positions on the second day of the meet. XL's goal to move up to the money slots (Top 4) had to take a blow in Round 7 where the four teams in those slots all delivered well and added points to the difference.
However, there is a horse race going on for the last spot in the Top 10. The Qatar Tigers seemed to own the 9th place and have now been chased down by a.team4way and Dubai Asaar Black. Both teams tied in 10th place are only two points behind Qatar's national 4way team, and none of the three teams is safe yet for the honor of making the Top 10.

Did you know that it was a slow start of the second half at the World Challenge 2013? posted: Apr 6th, 2013 The second day of the World Challenge 2013 began with another technically challenging 3-block sequence, a very different start compared to the super fast start of the first day.
The NSL-TV coverage also changed procedures to accommodate all Top 10 teams at the beginning of the day. The a.team4way from Russia has been holding the 10th position most of the time so far and is in the flying chamber earlier than the other Top 10 teams. The NSL-TV camera was in the chamber earlier this time to include the second Russian team in the Top 10 of the current leaderboard.

Did you know that each competition category of the World Challenge 2013 has dominating leaders? posted: Apr 5th, 2013 NMP-PCH Hayabusa seems to have enough of the close competition with Evolution in the first three rounds and finished the day with another performance from a different planet. The 3-point difference after Round 3 has turned into a 15-point lead all of a sudden.
Evolution helped the Belgians quite a bit though. The Canadians lost three points and have now allowed the French 8way experts from Gavroches Maubeuge to catch up. The second half of the French national 8way team has shaken off Paraclete XP4 for the moment and moved closer to the 2nd place. The Qatar Tigers with player coach Luc Verstrepen... (more)
Did you know that the Fun Flag had a rough trip to Bedford? posted: Apr 5th, 2013 The audience has probably noticed by now that the Fun Flag has made it to Bodyflight Bedford. It came from Canada where Evolution had taken it to after the Mondial 2012 in Dubai.
It was no easy transition. Katie Woods reported yesterday that the flag got lost at customs and immigration. She even provided evidence for the very strange incident at the US/Canadian border and brought the original "Notification of Checked Baggage Inspection" issued by the Canadian Air Transport Security Transport.
The agency tried to "protect you and your fellow passengers, and in accordance with Canadian security... (more)
