Did You Know...

... that the 4-way competition in Saarlouis is in full swing?

Flawless Round 1: SDC Rhythm XP
posted Aug 9th, 2017 - The competition is finally in full swing at the FAI World Cup 2017, and the first scores are posted. The teams are in the air for Round 2, while the judges are still working on the numbers for Round 1.

The scores of Round 1 offer the first opportunity to measure the situation of the meets within the meet. NMP PCH HayaBusa might have more competition for the Open Class top spot as expected, as the French national team, Real-Fly Sion, had the perfect start into a competition.

HayaBusa squeezed the completion of the second Photon of Block 11 into the working time after losing a point earlier. France was only shortly behind and on the way to the completion of the 36th scoring formation, and both teams eventually ended up with 35-pointers on the leaderboard. SDC Rhythm XP had a flawless Round 1, as well, and is slightly behind the top speed for the gold medals after Round 1. However, Black Cat fell far behind after four deductions due to the video angle, and the distance to Rhythm is probably already too much after one round.

The judges are not easy on the teams. More than 50% of the 4-way teams suffered point deductions in Round 1. Clean performances will be rewarded in Saarlouis.

Prep work for Round 1 downtown Saarlouis: No Mercy (Poland)
The NSL-TV coverage of the day began before the teams had scores for the first round. The atmosphere before the first round of a competition is always special, and the NSL-TV camera captured teams and coaches with the last preparations in the morning.

The two other video clips cover the opening ceremony that took place with beautiful weather downtown Saarlouis on Tuesday evening.

However, the weather was changing from rain and clouds to better conditions, and Tuesday's weather front left with winds that did not allow any demo jumps into the downtown plaza.

The parade of the nations was still a fun event with a marching band that entertained participants and spectators equally. Preparations for Round 1 resumed, some even at the parade side...
