Did you know that three DeLand Norgies were back in 4-way action?
posted: May 11th, 2016 The Sun Path Products NSL News briefly mentioned the Nordic Indoor Championships 2016 with yesterday's update from Denmark. Pangaea had attended the indoor competition at VossVind after winning the DFU Cup. The Nordics were a Scandinavian extension of the Norwegian national indoor championships, which were held in 2015 for the first time. The event was the second combined Scandinavian indoor competition, as teams from Finland and Sweden joined for their national championships earlier this year. The Sun Path Products reported on February 18th. The Nordics brought one team from the fourth Scandinavian... (more)

Did you know that Valkyria from Denmark is qualified for the Mondial 2016?
posted: May 10th, 2016 The annual DFU Cup in Denmark is usually a warm-up competition for the domestic teams to get ready for the national championships. This year, it had more relevance than in the past. Denmark's skydiving federation (DFU) has been considering sending a national team in 4-way Women to the World Championship of Formation Skydiving at the Mondial 2016 later this year, and the DFU Cup offered the opportunity for Danish teams to qualify for the event. The qualification standard for the female 4-way event was set at the 10-average benchmark, which turned out to be no serious obstacle for Valkyria. Denmark... (more)

Did you know that there is more to Girl Power in skydiving competition?
posted: May 9th, 2016 It was September 2013 when I last touched on the delicate subject of gender separation in our sport. I had finally made peace with the fact that there are two different belly-flying 4-way categories that the International Parachuting Committee (IPC) had forced upon us: one only for girls and the other one for everybody. I had argued the logic of the IPC move since the new category was introduced in 2001 and gave us new and additional 4-way world champions on a performance level that was significantly below the 4-way open class scoring level. I felt bad for the female 4-way open class world champions... (more)

Did you know that the Northern California Skydiving League beat the weather in Lodi?
posted: May 9th, 2016 The Northern California Skydiving League launched its 2016 outdoor season on the first day of May. It was originally scheduled for the last day of April, however, the very windy weather forecast changed the plans, and it was actually a surprise that the meet took place at all. NCSL Director Lori Connor was glad that it still worked out: "Well, in spite of the wind on Saturday, Meet #1 happened on Sunday." She said that the winds were surprisingly calm at Lodi, and the teams were jumping starting with the first load of the day. The Parachute Center eventually flew over 30 loads on Sunday with... Did you know that there was a lot of movement in the Indoor Cloud League 2016 rankings?
posted: May 8th, 2016 The April leaderboard of the Indoor Cloud League is finally complete, even though some of the videos are still missing. However, it is once again a new record leaderboard in the ICL history, with scores and videos from eleven different locations and teams. The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on May 3rd how UK top team 4mula left all other AAA Class teams in the dust after a world class performance at Bodyflight Bedford. Of course, 4mula made it into the ICL BEST OF APRIL video. The new Bad Boys lineup shared the highscore for the AA Class sequence with iFLY Houston's team (Katrina Shows,... (more)

Did you know that TurBu 2.0 had a colorful lineup at the Shamrock Showdown?
posted: May 6th, 2016 The aftermath of the Shamrock Showdown 2016 was not complete when the World Challenge 2016 began to take most of the Sun Path Products NSL News attention at the end of March. The Shamrock Showdown has always attracted high-profile pick-up teams who use the opportunity to compete side by side with the best teams in the world. This time, Nick Grillet, James Klinge, Martin Lemay and Ben Liston joined forces with the TurBu 2.0 lineup. Nick Grillet was a member of Carolina Turbo XP in 2014 and 2015 (Andrew Happick, Doug Barron, Joey Freeman). Turbo was on a steep progression curve ever since the... (more)
