posted: Jun 24th, 2016 The first July weekend will feature the next international leaderboard after this weekend's competition at three different locations in the U.S.A. (Texas Shootout, Northern Plains, Southern Skydiving League). This year's Tomscat Trophy in the Netherlands, the Nordcup in Germany and the second outdoor meet of the Czech 4-way Cup will bring teams from three different countries together on the overall leaderboard. Did you know that teams in Virginia needed the USPA rulebook to break a tie last weekend?
posted: Jun 22nd, 2016 Last weekend's overall leaderboard is complete after the scores from the second 2016 competition of the Virginia Parachute Council were added. All four VPC teams competed in the same category (AA) and ended up behind Z-Hills PreciZion of the Florida Skydiving League. Suffolk Sabotage stole the highscore for Round 1 from the FSL team, who suffered two point deductions in the same round. Suffolk Sabotage, who also post Indoor Cloud League scores for iFLY Virginia Beach on a regular basis, finished far ahead of the other VPC teams. posted: Jun 21st, 2016 The National Skydiving League's founder Kurt Gaebel recently ended up on the other side of the journalistic end that features the Sun Path Products NSL News on a regular basis. Performance Designs honored his 35-year skydiving career with a placement on the PD Blog front page. The introduction was written by Laura Golly: "Kurt Gaebel is an accomplished 4-way and 8-way FS competitor hailing from Germany. Did you know that Simba posted new A Class record average and single-round highscore?
posted: Jun 21st, 2016 Last weekend's outdoor meet of the Florida Skydiving League brought back Simba to Skydive DeLand. Simba attended the team's second meet this year after the 2016 start at the May competition. Florida's summer weather allowed only the completion of four rounds this time, as the usual rain and thunder storms in the afternoon interfered with the skydiving operation. Simba had completed all six rounds in May. It was exactly the same Simba roster that came back last weekend and finished with a new outdoor team record average and a new highscore for a single round. Did you know that Z-Hills PreciZion's scores last weekend are misleading?
posted: Jun 20th, 2016 The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on March 27th how Z-Hills PreciZion from Skydive City in Florida helped iFLY Orlando's Indoor Cloud League team to add some points to the March account. PreciZion's Tail Jimmy Xu also attended a few additional ICL events at iFLY Orlando and scored several times with other lineups. Three of his team mates (Erica Gorski, Rebecca Maureen Ugo, Grant Underland) used to be regulars at iFLY Orlando's ICL events, as well, before they formed Z-Hills PreciZion, hired Sally Hathaway as a player coach and focused primarily on their team training. Did you know that two iFLY Houston teams tested the new tie-breaking rule?
posted: Jun 19th, 2016 iFLY Houston is the fourth wind tunnel group that submitted scores for the new June sequences. Once again, the Indoor Cloud League team from Texas performed sequences for both flying chamber sizes and misses only a scoring number for the 12-foot AA Class sequence (F,9,21) after scoring on both leaderboards first time in May. iFLY Houston's team joined the Indoor Cloud League at the beginning of this year and started with a group of tunnel flyers who wanted to learn more about 4-way competition.
