News Article Did you know that Thyra and Arizona Airspeed are the cleanest teams in their events?
posted: Aug 25th, 2023 It is raining again on Friday morning, which probably does not worry anybody any longer who has been in Voss for the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 this week. Rain seems to be a part of the weather pattern in the area, and it comes and goes very quickly. At the same time, the Thursday with great weather almost all day long has put the meet ahead of schedule, and there is not even a reason to hurry for meet director Carl-Erik Tuv. There is no doubt any longer that the 10-round competitions in all events will be completed. There is also no doubt that the U.S. delegation will complete the sweep... (more)
News Article Did you know that the fast Round 6 lifted SDC Rhythm XP to the 5th place?
posted: Aug 24th, 2023 The 4-way teams had the pleasure of the best weather so far at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 on Thursday. They were scheduled to go through Round 8 before the meet would turn to 8-way competition again, and it was no problem at all for meet director Carl-Erik Tuv to complete the task. The 4-way rounds on Thursday included the fastest sequence of the competition. Round 6 had a Super with Block 9 (Cat - Accordian) at the beginning in it, followed by three random formations. Super Sequences do not only offer the opportunity for all teams to boost their meet averages, They also have the potential... (more)
News Article Did you know that meet director and competitor Carl-Erik Tuv had a few minutes for NSL Live Talk?
posted: Aug 23rd, 2023 Three more 8-way rounds were completed at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023, which puts the event ahead of the 4-way competition. The host decided to give the 8-way teams the next break and called the 4-way teams to Skydive Voss for the early morning shift on Thursday. Meet director Carl-Erik Tuv, former and current Norgies/Norgyx member, finally had some time available for NSL Live Talk, as the operation is running smoothly and his assistants are working efficiently with him. One of them is Trude Sviggum, who is a former member of Norway's national teams, as well. She won silver medals with... (more)
News Article Did you know that GKXP8 are on the way to new scoring heights?
posted: Aug 23rd, 2023 It took a while on Wednesday until the weather situation at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 improved enough to resume the competition. The 4-way teams were finally released for the day, and the 8-way teams were back in action in the afternoon. The 8-way competition will probably be ahead of 4-way at the end of the day. The NSL News used the available time on Wednesday morning to discuss the first part of the competition in a new NSL Coaches Corner conversation with Solly Williams, Gary Smith and Luc Verstrepen. Together they are probably looking at half of the 4-way field of teams that they have... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Fun Flag found a perfect spot at Skydive Voss?
posted: Aug 22nd, 2023 All 4-way teams have completed three rounds on the first competition day of the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 in Voss, Norway. Both French 4-way teams must have liked the sequence of Round 3, where the 4-way Open Class team tied Arizona Airspeed's 26-pointer and the new Nephtys lineup the 20-pointer by XPG4, after a 1-point deduction for the U.S. team. NMP PCH HayaBusa is back on track after two weak opening rounds with a total of six point deductions for infringements. Germany's Airbus is holding on to the 5th place and even added another point to the lead in 5th place, despite the very... (more)
News Article Did you know that XPG4 battle with NMP PCH HayaBusa and Qatar Tigers?
posted: Aug 22nd, 2023 The first day of competition at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023 continued with the weather pattern of the two training days that the NSL News witnessed at Skydive Voss. The situation changes quickly, and the host is perfectly prepared to deal with it. It was impressive that the 4-way teams were in the middle of Round 3 at noon, despite a few necessary breaks for weather holds. The three Cessna Caravans are in the air whenever the weather situation allows competition rounds, and the Twin Otter will join the action for 8-way competition very soon. The top of the 4-way leaderboards after the... (more)
