posted: Oct 1st, 2011 Five teams from Southern California competed together with four teams from Florida last weekend, while nine teams have launched this weekend's competition of the Northern Plains Skydiving League. The teams in Perris last weekend outscored the teams in Florida. The NPSL teams are alone this weekend, as no other meets are scheduled. The FSL teams at Skydive Miami last weekend had the A Class competition for themselves, while Teiwaz South and Miami Dropouts had to put up with the SCSL teams and had no chance. News Article Did you know that Paraclete XP offers a 4on4 indoor 8way camp in December?
posted: Sep 30th, 2011 An interesting project is coming up for the 8way fans at the beginning of December. Two Paraclete XP members (Kirk Verner and John D’Annunzio) and two Golden Knights (Brian "BK" Krause, Kurt Isenbarger) are joining forces for an 8way training camp at the Paraclete XP windtunnel in Raeford, North Carolina. The 16-foot chamber is big enough, and the air flow strong enough for 8way training, even for 8way competition. News Article Did you know that Dan BC spoke about 4way for a worldwide audience in Belgium?
posted: Sep 29th, 2011 The NSL News reported on 29 April 2011 that Arizona Airspeed's 4way and 8way legend Dan BC was working on a movie and book project that would bring his own extraordinary life story to the attention of the general public. The movie is still in the works, but the book is now available. It was not published under the title "Playing to Win", as the NSL News announced by then. Author and publisher eventually decided to synchronize the title for the movie and the book, which can now be purchased under the same title name: "Above All Else". News Article Did you know that both Miami teams stepped up into new competition classes?
posted: Sep 28th, 2011 The September meet of the Florida Skydiving League was the second visit of the NSL News at Skydive Miami in Homestead this year. Pam Manos and Fred Whitsitt once again activated all of their 4way locals and put them together in three lineups. One team was also visiting from Clewiston, a skydiving center north of the Everglades and on the southern shore of Lake Okeechobee. The Clewiston Collusion competed together with the Miami Dropins in the A Class competition. News Article Did you know that the videos of Rounds 9 and 10 conclude the female 4way competition at the World Cup?
posted: Sep 27th, 2011 The videos of Round 9 and Round 10 in the female 4way competition at the World Cup 2011 conclude this part of the NSL News event coverage. All ten rounds of all five teams are now available at the YouTube channel of the NSL News. The Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders have lived up to their team name so far and have not lost a meet yet with the new lineup. Two reigning world champions of 2010 (Sophie Deremaux, Amélie Tirman) have been doing the job by themselves, while getting help by the two new members (Laurence Hervé, Perrine Sanchez) and videographer Remy Grandcler. News Article Did you know that Dr. Uwe Beckmann and BJ Worth brought skydiving to the Olympic Games?
posted: Sep 26th, 2011 The NSL News had reported the induction of Jerry Bird to the National Skydiving Museum's Hall of Fame during the Skydive Expo in DeLand on 19 August 2010. It happened at the same event where skydivers celebrated the 50th anniversary of Joseph Kittinger's unique high-altitude record jump that he did in 1960. Joe Kittinger also made it to the Hall of Fame at the same time. The inaugural class of the museum’s Hall of Fame in August 2010 also included Lowell Bachman (posthumous), Georgia “Tiny” Broadwick (posthumous), Joe Crane (posthumous), Bill Ottley (posthumous), Eilif Ness, Lew Sanborn,...
