News Article Did you know that the Midwest Skydiving League Rookies Class teams had a sensational competition at the playoffs?
posted: Sep 15th, 2004 The fifth and final MWSL meet of the 2004 season took place last weekend under perfect skydiving conditions at Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Hinckley, IL. Six teams, five of whom had attended every MWSL meet this season, competed for off-season bragging rights, prizes and the opportunity to compete in the NSL Championships at SkyQuest 2004. In a format new for 2004, this event was a “meet within a meet”. Through the first six rounds, the teams were not only putting up scores for MWSL meet 5, but also for the NSL Playoffs 2004. News Article Did you know that all Midwest Skydiving League teams improved their meet averages last weekend?
posted: Aug 17th, 2004 In stark contrast to the dangerously violent weather impacting Florida and the East Coast last weekend, the Midwest was blessed with near perfect skydiving weather. And while August meets in the Midwest typically involve enduring some of the most oppressive heat and humidity of the year, we had near record lows and a high only in the low 70’s. News Article Did you know that A Class and Rookie Class teams had a very exciting competition at the Midwest Skydiving League?
posted: Jun 23rd, 2004 What a difference a month makes! The big story of the Midwest Skydiving League season opener in May was the weather. On June 19th the league held its second meet and the competitors took center stage - the way it should be.Hinckley 5 put on a show in the AAA Class. We certainly hope to see them next month. Good Vibrations put on another impressive performance. The team changed to a less experienced line-up and decided to give the AA Class a shot. As the scores show, the team was ready for the challenge. We look forward to seeing what the Good Vibrations decides to do at the next meet.The A Class... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Midwest teams braved through tough weather conditions in Ottawa?
posted: May 25th, 2004 Despite the best efforts of Mother Nature, the Midwest Skydiving League completed the first meet of the season. Tornadoes, thunderstorms and high winds rocked the Chicago area for the last month...including a tornado in nearby Hinckley less than twelve hours before the start of the meet! The forecast for the weekend was more of the same, but teams from Skydive Chicago, Chicagoland Skydiving and Sky Knights made the drive to Skydive Chicago with hopes of a miracle. (more)
