News Article Did you know that the Furies and Sirens raced each other once again in the Midwest?
posted: Jul 17th, 2006 The 2005 season of the Midwest Skydiving League already had the exciting competition between Chicagoland Skydiving Center's team Sirens and Skydive Chicago's Furies in the headlines quite a few times. Both teams competed in the A Class by then. The race has continued in the AA Class this year, has become even closer and had a new peak last weekend. The Furies were the dominating A Class team last year, and the Sirens tried to keep in striking distance. However, the competition between the two all-female teams was already much tighter when Furies and Sirens both attended the MWSL 2006 season... (more)
News Article Did you know that the CSC Sirens are two points away from the 10-point average?
posted: Jun 28th, 2006 The Midwest Skydiving League completed its second meet of the 2006 season without teams from Skydive Chicago. A separate skydiving event kept especially the female competitors from attending the meet at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center. However, five teams still made it a successful competition in Hinckley with great scores. The CSC Sirens once again improved the team's meet average in its third competition of the 2006 season. The 9.7 average also won the first place on last weekend's AA Class leaderboard. NPSL team Microburst has held the top position with a 9.0 average until the scores from... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Midwest Skydiving League teams keep moving up the steps of competition classes?
posted: Jun 6th, 2006 The Midwest Skydiving League 2006 season finally kicked off Saturday at Skydive Chicago in some of the nicest weather the Midwest has enjoyed this year. The first meet is always full of surprises, first and foremost being who some of the competitors are that we will be seeing this season. This meet, which mostly featured veterans from previous seasons, had six teams in three different classes. The flow of the teams that initially began in our Rookie Class two and three years ago and progressed to the A Class competition last year has now moved into the AA Class, which appears to be our class... News Article Did you know that the Skydive Chicago Furies offer an "Introduction to 4-way" this weekend?
posted: May 18th, 2006 The Midwest Skydiving League is not yet launching the 2006 season. However, the teams of the league are busy preparing themselves and other skydivers for the first meet on June 3. MWSL Director Alan Butt mentioned that one of his teams, the Skydive Chicago Furies, organize an "Introduction to 4-way" this weekend at Skydive Chicago. The Furies with Gosia Cienkosz, Lisa DeSimone, Sarah Lawrence, Shannon Sweet and Charles Lane (video) attended three meets of the MWSL 2005 season (7.2 - 10.5 - 10.6) and dominated the A Class competition of the Midwest Skydiving League last year. The great progression... (more)
News Article Did you know that MWSL Director Alan Butt looks back at a record breaking 2005 season?
posted: Sep 21st, 2005 The final meet of the Midwest Skydiving League 2005 season took place Saturday under gorgeous blue skies at Chicagoland Skydiving in Hinckley, IL featuring five veteran teams. The meet's results would determine the final MWSL rankings and also represented the last chance for the teams to improve their NSL season standings. Lisa Dexter and the rest of the staff at CSC, the most senior supporter among the MWSL dropzones, did their usual great job managing the meet. Once again, Rebeca at Performance Designs was generous enough to provide prizes for a second "PD Challenge", which was again based... (more)
News Article Did you know that 4-Play won the PD Challenge at the Midwest Skydiving League?
posted: Aug 24th, 2005 A lousy weather forecast held down attendance, and a stubborn layer of low clouds delayed the start of our fourth meet of the 2005 season last Saturday at Skydive Chicago. However, no one could have foreseen just how much the action would heat up once the meet finally got rolling. In addition to the "meet within a meet" already in place due to MWSL Meet 4 doubling as the first six rounds of the NSL Playoffs 2005, thanks to Rebeca Perren at Performance Designs, the Midwest Skydiving League was also able to hold a "PD Challenge" where each team competed against its own score from the previous...
