News Article Did you know that CSC Rhythm XP set new MWSL records last weekend?
posted: Jul 31st, 2008 The Midwestern weather thus far in 2008 has been the worst for skydivers in at least fifteen years, but that trend abated for us Saturday, and Meet 3 took place under nearly ideal conditions. The weather was not the only thing that improved dramatically from the June meet. We had five teams returning for the competition at Chicagoland Skydiving, and every one of them significantly improved their scores from June. The meet would also benefit from the presence of well known 4-way expert Kirk Verner. In the AAA Class we again had the two best known MWSL teams: SDC Furies and CSC Rhythm XP. Rhythm... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Midwest is producing a new top team?
posted: Jul 1st, 2008 It is probably the first time in the history of the Midwest Skydiving League that a team from this region is holding the top position of the AAA Class leaderboard with an international field. CSC Rhythm XP is currently in 1st place of ten teams with a 15.0 average. Brian Ball (Center Inside), Laurent Beaudouin (Tail), Janette Lefkowitz (Center Outside), Steve Lefkowitz (Point) and Kevin Naftzger (Camera) were already very close to the same spot on the May 31 weekend when 13 teams competed in an international field of AAA Class teams. Bodyflight Storm, the female national 4-way team of the United... (more)
News Article Did you know that the new CSC Rhythm XP lineup started with team record scores?
posted: Jun 9th, 2008 Last Saturday marked the 2008 season opener for the Midwestern Skydiving League and, as often is the case this time of year, the weather was not yet ready to fully cooperate. Despite a forecast of a windy day, three teams came out to Chicagoland Skydiving to see if we could get the MWSL 2008 season opener in. CSC Rhythm XP, a nationally ranked "weekend" team, represented the MWSL in the AAA Class. There were also two A Class teams: 2007 veterans SDC On The Fly who returned with their roster intact and new team Victory Hop. While the predicted winds did arrived Saturday morning, conditions were... (more)
News Article Did you know that the current MWSL record scores have local roots?
posted: Aug 15th, 2007 The third MWSL meet of the 2007 season took place last weekend at Skydive Chicago. Weather has been an issue for all the MWSL teams this entire season, but the weekend was very accommodating to jumping, if a bit warm. The trend of fewer teams but higher scores than in recent years continued at the meet with five teams posting what were probably the highest overall scores in the history of the Midwest Skydiving League. A special aspect of this meet was the option to do ten jumps over two days at the host DZ for next month's USPA Nationals. As an added assist to the preparation for that meet,... (more)
News Article Did you know that last weekend's MWSL meet was on a regional record level?
posted: Jul 26th, 2007 The 2007 season has been the toughest in many years for the Midwest Skydiving League as well as its teams. The weather in the Midwest has not been very friendly to skydivers, with plenty of windy and cloudy weekends. But fortunately, this past weekend brought three days of absolutely perfect jumping weather. The turnout for Meet 3 was still a bit light by recent MWSL standards, but the overall skill level was probably the highest ever. Five teams were at Chicagoland Skydiving Saturday morning, four of whom would be competing in their first MWSL meet of 2007. As an extra bonus for the teams,... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Midwest skydiving season had a slow start?
posted: Jun 10th, 2007 The 2007 season opener of the Midwest Skydiving League was a part of the record meet weekend on June 2 - 3 where a total of 74 teams were listed on the NSL leaderboard. However, the MWSL meet turned out to be below expectations, as MWSL Director Alan Butt reported a slow start into the new Midwest skydiving season in general. (more)
