News Article Have you heard that new videos feature the world record show and the Golden Knights 8-way team?
posted: Oct 14th, 2009 More 4-way videos of the competition jumps will be uploaded soon. There will be a lot of footage for follow up stories. However, the 8-way competition begins tomorrow, and the NSL News focuses more on the 8-way event for a few days. The recent 4-way coverage finishes with a video clip that was filmed on Wednesday around noon. It was the time when Round 6 with the fast sequence of random formations finally came up for the 4-way teams in both AAA Class categories. The NSL News intercepted several teams at the landing area and captured the first reactions after the jump, including the owner... (more)
News Article Have you heard that 20 is a magic number for Airspeed?
posted: Oct 14th, 2009 It's the last update in 4-way after Round 10. The award ceremony is already over, and the 8-way draw has been done. Airspeed did it again. Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard, Mark Kirkby, Andy Delk and Steve Nowak added consecutive victory no. 20 to the records since this lineup was formed. They successfully started a new series of 20+ meets. Craig Girard won his first national championship title 20 years ago. It seems like the 20 is a special number, not only for the NSL News... The NSL News stays longer this time since the 8-way competition seems to be very exciting this year. Videos will be... (more)
News Article Have you heard that Perris Fury has the highscore of Round 7?
posted: Oct 14th, 2009 Round 7 is complete, and not much has changed. Perris Fury had the best performance of all AAA Class teams and deserved the highscore for the round. Spaceland Force XP completed 22 points in time, as well, but lost the Snowflake in the judging room. It was obviously a complete exit formation, and videographer Eric Boyd missed the complete picture by an inch. Bad luck. Arizona Airspeed had a major glitch building the Snowflake of Block 1 on the second page. However, the world champions fixed it, picked the speed back up carefully and finished with a 21-pointer. The 23 would have been in... (more)
News Article Have you heard that 45 points is the new world record?
posted: Oct 14th, 2009 It happened as it was expected. The world record fell. The whole dropzone operation was interrupted, and meet director Scott Smith invited the crowd to the viewing area in the hangar. He commented the judging of the seven highest ranking teams and their performances in Round 6 together with Dan BC. The show peaked when Spaceland Force XK scored a 45-pointer after a 1-point deduction. This was the new world record. Airspeed was the last team in the judging loop and still had the chance to tie the score or go higher. Airspeed completed 45 points in time, lost the exit point and ended up with the... (more)
News Article Have you heard that a new round of NSL Talk features VTSD?
posted: Oct 14th, 2009 It's a special day at the 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships. There is no doubt that at least two rounds will be completed today. Most likely, the meet will even be completed, as the weather forecast is promising. Mentioning two rounds is meant to keep Round 6 of the Open Class competition in mind, which is probably not very difficult. Round 6 has a sequence that is fast enough to set a new world record for a single round. The world record round can be expected around noon. The NSL News used another weather break yesterday to meet with the leader of the AA/Intermediate Class competition... (more)
News Article Have you heard that Jack Jefferies commented for the NSL News today?
posted: Oct 13th, 2009 The NSL News night shift begins with the most important part of the sport - the videos of the competition jumps. USPA and CamScore provided the NSL News with the video files of the competition jumps, so the audience can enjoy reviews of some of the many meet jumps. Four rounds were completed on Monday and Tuesday, videos of two of these rounds have been uploaded and feature the Top 4 teams in the Open Class competition. The presentation begins with the videos of Round 1 where Arizona Airspeed took the lead right away and was the only team that got to the 20-point level. This video can be found... (more)
