News Article Did you know that the Golden Knights won the 10-way competition in Texas?
posted: Oct 19th, 2009 The NSL News will soon begin to follow up on the 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships with plenty of footage of the competition jumps, provided by CamScore. It's footage of the 4-way and 8-way competition in all competition classes. One Arizona Airspeed video of the 16-way competition was already shown with the story on 17 October 2009. The same story provided details of the Airspeed lineup. Airspeed won the 16-way competition easily this year. In fact, Arizona Airspeed had won all four Formation Skydiving events (4-way, 8-way, 10-way, 16-way) in 2007 and 2008. It did not work out the... (more)
News Article Did you know that another NSL Reality TV clip features the morning of a dramatic 8-way day?
posted: Oct 18th, 2009 Another clip of "NSL Reality-TV" had not been uploaded so far. It was filmed on Friday morning, the last day of the 8-way competition. The beginning of the day had all three 8-way top contenders still in contention. Then came Round 7, and Paraclete XP fell out of it. The 11-pointer had a dramatic impact, as the following events would show. Paraclete wanted to win and compete for the USA at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving next year in Russia. It was not even necessary to win the gold medals at the 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships, as Airspeed announced at the award... (more)
News Article Did you know that the 4-way medal winners joined forces in 16-way?
posted: Oct 17th, 2009 The double gold victory for Arizona Airspeed at the 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships has already turned into a triple gold situation. Airspeed won the 16-way competition without much trouble, as well. It would be no surprise if it turned out to be another 4-gold national championship for the Arizona team. It would not be the first time. The 16-way lineup consisted of the four 4-way champions and two members of the 8-way lineup (John Hamilton, Dennis Rook). Jack Jefferies was the alternate in 16-way. The complete Perris Fury lineup made it a 10-way. Three Spaceland Force XP members... (more)
News Article Did you know that NSL-TV features two Airspeed bloopers?
posted: Oct 16th, 2009 Round 10 brought another surprise for Arizona Airspeed, this time in 8-way though. The NSL News uploaded the video of Round 8 in 4-way already earlier. It was the first blooper where the world champions had too deal with a little mental challenge right at exit time. Videographer Steve Novak climbed out for Round 8, Tail Mark Kirkby and Center Outside Craig Girard followed. All of a sudden, Craig Girard climbed back in and signaled Mark Kirkby to come back too. Andy Delk had abandoned the climbout after signals from the pilot and the other teams in the plane. However, Steve Nowak was still out... (more)
News Article Did you know that the French 8-way experts follow the action very carefully?
posted: Oct 16th, 2009 Clement Martin St. Leon, 8-way world champion of 2006 and 2006 and now team captain of the French 8-way machine, e-mailed and said that his team is following the action at the 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships very carefully. The defending champions will face the new US national 8-way team next year in Russia. The French competitors are impressed with the 8-way performance at Spaceland, as Clement Martin St. Leon admitted: "The performances of the three top teams in 8-way are just awesome and very impressive regarding the number of training jumps for Airspeed, the level of experience... News Article Did you know that Airspeed's 27-pointer is now on NSL-TV?
posted: Oct 15th, 2009 Arizona Airspeed recovered and maintained the 4-point lead in Round 6 after losing two points to the Golden Knights in Round 5. The Airspeed 2009 lineup is warming up jump by jump. Point Jack Jefferies expressed his own feelings about the exit: "I feel like I am slowly getting back to the familiar feeling of a good exit." It must be difficult for Golden Knights and Paraclete XP to watch Airspeed perform on the same level as the trained teams and getting better round by round. However, Airspeed's final position and scores may not even matter that much. It is quite unlikely that this lineup will... (more)
