posted: Nov 17th, 2008 The end of the World Meet 2008 was also the natural end of many teams' 2-year cycle of the status as the national team. Some national federations also structure their support for the national teams based on the 2-year time frame from world meet to world meet. Other national teams may have set the world meet as the final goal before new plans may possibly be discussed. The NSL News was interested in the future of the Norwegian national teams and asked the official manager of Norway's national project, Trude Sviggum, for an update. News Article Did you know that Mass Defiance members organize the first 12-foot tunnel competition for 4-way teams?
posted: Nov 16th, 2008 The NSL News story on 11 November 2008, which covered New England Skydiving League team Mass Defiance, included a mention that team member Ben Liston is working on plans for a windtunnel competition in December. He now followed up with more detailed information of the event that is scheduled for December 13 at SkyVenture New Hampshire, a 12-foot tunnel. It will be a 10-round meet for 4-way teams. Ben Liston said that the goal is to have a fun meet and "give 4-way junkies in the North East something to hold them over until the snow melts". News Article Did you know that no world meets were completed after a rule change in 2004?
posted: Nov 14th, 2008 The NSL News reported for the first time on 6 October 2008 what teams, competitors, judges and officials discussed during the open IPC meeting at the World Meet 2008. The future of the freeze frame judging was the topic. The story on 9 November 2008 followed up with another important topic, the use of slower viewing speed for the judging procedure. Finally, one more issue was discussed at the end of the meeting in Maubeuge, and it was related to the event duration. News Article Did you know that Lee Love has a comeback with UK team Satori?
posted: Nov 13th, 2008 The NSL News has covered the team career of the British 4-way team Satori ever since the team was formed at the beginning of the 2008 season. The first story on 9 January 2008 introduced the lineup and the plans for the first year. Julia Foxwell (Center Outside), Liz Matthews (Center Inside), Katie Woods (Point), Aaron Faith (Tail) and Ian Ridpath on camera attended six meets this year. Amanda Kemp filled in at one meet for Aaron Faith in the Tail slot. News Article Did you know that Kaleidoscope Divers and 4-way teams are getting ready for SkyQuest 2008?
posted: Nov 12th, 2008 The NSL 2008 season is coming to its end very soon. SkyQuest 2008, the annual event that concludes each NSL season, is scheduled for November 20 - 23. Skydive DeLand will once again be the SkyQuest host. The combination of BJ Worth's Kaleidoscope Dives and the NSL Championship, plus other skydiving disciplines in different years, has been a fun and entertaining event for eight years now. The NSL Championship brings together the teams that have not had enough of 4-way competition at this time of the year. News Article Did you know that Mass Defiance still holds the amateur record average?
posted: Nov 11th, 2008 The NSL News story on 7 November 2008 covered the impressive progression of Arizona Divewerkz, which recently culminated with a 19.0 average at the USPA Nationals 2008 and the unofficial title of the best "amateur team" in the USA. Another team name has been mentioned quite a few times, mostly whenever the NSL News covered the best "amateur teams" in the sport. Mass Defiance from New England actually still owns the highest meet average of the teams that can be considered weekend or amateur teams.
