The first SkyQuest Germany 2012 event is scheduled for 23 - 26 August and will be hosted by FSC Remscheid, MD Skydive and the National Skydiving League.
The success of SkyQuest Florida is the main reason for the extension, and the event in the center of Europe will make it much easier for more European skydivers to participate. MD Skydive has been using the large airport in Magdeburg for several years, which offers perfect conditions for... (more)

Did you know that World Meet sweeps have become much more difficult? posted: Jan 23rd, 2012 The NSL News covered the Arizona Airspeed sweeps at USPA Nationals with the story on 21 January 2012. It is challenging enough to accomplish such a mission on a national level and in four different categories. How much more difficult would it be on an international level?
It was much easier in the first 15 years of modern Formation Skydiving history, which started in 1985 when the current dive pool system was applied for the first time. There were only two events, 4way and 8way, and chances were greater for a nation to win both sets of gold medals. The US delegation did it three times (1985,... (more)

Did you know that Mark Kirkby and Craig Girard have all Airspeed USPA sweeps in common? posted: Jan 21st, 2012 Arizona Airspeed is still the top favorite for the Shamrock Showdown 2012, despite the impressive scoring by Aerodyne Aerokart and NMP-PCH Hayabusa at the 3rd Dubai Championship 2011.
According to the first results of the Shamrock poll Airspeed is almost exactly as far ahead of the two other teams as the same poll showed last year before the same event. Airspeed then also won as clearly as the poll results predicted. Only the positions for France and Belgium are switched this time. The audience expects the French team in 2nd place, just as it was after ten tounds last year. However, the pressure... (more)

Other changes have also happened in the United Kingdom at the turn of the year, even though none of the national teams of 2011 (Satori - 4way Open, Bodyflight Aerodyne - 4way Women, Brit Chicks - 8way) have reported any team news of the lineups.
In fact, at least Satori and Brit Chicks are planning to intensify their efforts with the same lineups to prepare for the World Championship of Formation Skydiving at the Mondial 2012 in Dubai.
Brit Chicks member Joanne Hawley,... (more)
