News Article Did you know that Tom Falzone has good reasons to visit the Tomscat Trophy?
posted: Jun 16th, 2012 The Tomscat Trophy 2012 is in full swing, but the field of teams does not have the same international touch any longer as the previews explained. The recent story of the Blue Rebels from Greece was correct all the way, however, it did not have the perfect ending in Hoogeveen this weekend. Organizer Mike Pennock informed the NSL News that the Blue Rebels had to cancel their trip at the last minute due to the political and financial crisis in Greece, which also caused elections of a new government this weekend. Thunder is listed as a team from Belgium, which still brings a different nationality... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Blue Rebels return to the Netherlands earlier than usual?
posted: Jun 15th, 2012 The Netherlands and Greece are in the same boat now at the EURO 2012 - at the very bottom of their groups. Germany had no mercy on Wednesday with the host of the Tomscat Trophy 2012, and the team from the Czech Republic defeated Greece on Tuesday. Netherlands and Greece both HAVE to win their last group game on Saturday (Greece) and Sunday (Netherlands) to advance to the next round. The Dutch team even needs some help from Germany, as Denmark could take the second place by winning against Germany who is qualified no matter what. It's a tough situation and a lot of pressure for the Netherlands... (more)
News Article Did you know that EURO 2012 interferes with the Tomscat Trophy?
posted: Jun 13th, 2012 The annual Tomscat Trophy 2012 in the Netherlands is coming up this weekend and will bring together once again more than 20 teams in Hoogeveen. Dutch 4way competitions have often fallen together on the meet weekends with important football/soccer matches, a very popular sport in the Netherlands, as in most parts of Europe. Dutch 4way competitions have even been halted here and there if the Dutch national soccer team was in contention of winning a tournament. (more)
News Article Did you know that ISB Air Remscheid is training with Paul Hofstee?
posted: Jun 12th, 2012 The latest update from the United Kingdom brought some attention back to the female 4way category. The British national team, Bodyflight Aerodyne Langar, used the second meet of the United Kingdom Skydiving League 2012 last weekend to add some competition experience to the relatively new lineup. One of the top contenders in the same category, Germany's ISB Air Remscheid, was training with substitute Paul Hofstee at about the same time when Bodyflight Aerodyne Langar posted new scores in the UK. Center Outside Sarah Hajooze had her last surgery three weeks ago after a long break that was caused... (more)
News Article Did you know that Z-Hills Commandos was a real family affair last weekend?
posted: Jun 12th, 2012 Chances were little that last weekend's leaderboard would grow much after the scores from the United Kingdom were posted. The NSL News reported earlier that the weather situation in Florida was not very promising. A few teams that had made plans to attend did not even try to possibly beat the weather with a few rounds. However, five teams were eager enough to brave the weather situation, and DeLand Higgs Boson even managed to complete six rounds on Sunday when the weather at Skydive City was better than on Saturday. Higgs Boson was not originally scheduled to compete last weekend, but a recent... (more)
News Article Did you know that Kaizen is on the top of a leaderboard for the first time?
posted: Jun 11th, 2012 The NSL News mentioned with the first update of last weekend's meets that the United Kingdom Skydiving League was heading towards new record participation at the second UKSL meet of the 2012 season. 32 teams eventually completed five rounds in Langar, and the six AAA Class teams had enough time for another jump to make it a 6-round meet at the end of the day. It was a very special meet for one team. Kaizen was formed in 2008 when the original lineup (Rai Ahmed, Liz Ashley, Liz Cass, Jo Hawley) attended the World Challenge to launch the team project. They competed at all three UKSL meets of the... (more)
