News Article Did you know that Hvezdy from the Czech Republic challenged the top of the AA Class leaderboard?
posted: Jun 27th, 2012 The 4way teams in the Czech Republic completed their second 2012 outdoor meet last weekend, and the participation is picking up after a season opener with bad weather in May. It is still an unusual situation, as the heart and soul of 4way competition in the Czech Republic, Bad Boys member Jan Klapka, is still grounded after a landing accident in May. His Bad Boys did not want to replace him and skipped the meet. However, his wife Jirina Klapkova, Center Inside for Velocity of Life, made sure that the family was represented on the leaderboard. Jan Klapka tries to recover as quickly as possible... (more)
News Article Did you know that a team from Finland took the top spot in the A Class?
posted: Jun 26th, 2012 Last weekend's leaderboard is complete, and no event was weathered out. In fact, the weather was almost perfect at each of the five different locations in the USA (Chicago, Northern Plains, Carolina) and Europe (Finland, Czech Republic). The meets were all completed with a few exceptions of a few teams. The Rookie Class teams of the Carolina Skydiving League have only four rounds on their meet agenda. It turned out to be a big weekend for a team from a small skydiving country. Umppa Lumpat from Finland finished on the top of the A Class leaderboard, and it was neither a weak participation nor... News Article Did you know that the former Wissota Baby Beavers have grown up now?
posted: Jun 25th, 2012 The last time that ten teams competed at a Northern Plains Skydiving League meet was in July 2010, and the highest NPSL participation ever was recorded with eleven teams in July 2009. Last weekend, new NPSL Director Al BeVier activated ten teams of his region to compete again at Skydive Twin Cities, which tied the biggest June number (2008) in the history of the league. Great weather contributed to the early completion on Saturday, and Al Bevier is now probably aiming at the 11-team NPSL benchmark for July. He was not far off even tying the record attendance last weekend. AAA Class team Acme... (more)
News Article Did you know that Golden Knights member Laura Dickmeyer is the new CASL Director?
posted: Jun 24th, 2012 The second meet of the Carolina Skydiving League 2012 season brought another change in the leadership for one of the longest standing leagues in the country. Dan Winkelstein had handed over the CASL reigns to Andy Honigbaum and Jan Lane for the 2011 season after his four years of leadership. Andy Honigbaum and Jan Lane mastered their first year together, while they opened their own skydiving operation in the Carolinas at the same time. They continued managing the 2012 season opener and then got too busy for the additional job. There was no leadership gap though, as Golden Knights member Laura... (more)
News Article Did you know that SDC Rhythm XP posted a new team record average this weekend?
posted: Jun 23rd, 2012 SDC Rhythm XP is keeping a clean record as of the scoring progression, despite the challenging circumstances at the Midway Battle 2012. All teams completed the missing two rounds today, which makes it a 10-round meet, and Rhythm finished with a 22.6 average. It's the highest meet average that the team has posted at an outdoor competition in the Rhythm history and beats the 22.4 average that the complete 2012 lineup posted at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012. The challenging situation was caused by an injury of Center Inside Chris Farina at the beginning of the training camp leading... (more)
News Article Did you know that Craig Girard is SDC Rhythm XP's Center Inside for the Midway Battle?
posted: Jun 22nd, 2012 One of the upcoming weekend's meets is the annual Battle at Midway, which was inaugurated in 2009. Only three 4way teams attended the competition at Skydive Chicago last year, after a 5-team participation in 2010. Five teams made it to Ottawa this weekend, and one of them is coming from far away. Dubai head coach Craig Girard brought one of the two Dubai Asaar lineups to the USA, first for an indoor training camp at Paraclete XP last week, followed by outdoor training in Ottawa, to prepare for the competition at the Midway Battle. He has three members of the Asaar Red team in this weekend's... (more)
