News Article Did you know that weather interfered in Florida and in the United Kingdom?
posted: Jun 9th, 2012 Today's weather map of Florida does not look too pretty. That's bad luck for the teams of the Florida Skydiving League who were supposed to get in the air for their second meet this year. It's even more bad luck since the current momentum, caused by the monthly FSL Tunnel Kickers at iFLY Orlando is showing some outdoor results, as well. The NSL News reported on 7 June 2012 that the FSL teams and competitors were preparing for this weekend's event. Several teams were ready to post scores and increase the participation of the past years at a June meet significantly. It does not look much better... (more)
News Article Did you know that Jack Jefferies commented the double gold challenge in 2003?
posted: Jun 8th, 2012 The NSL News has covered several times in the past the different attempts to win double gold at a World Championship of Formation Skydiving in 4way and 8way with the same 4way lineup. The earlier attempts by the Golden Knights in 1987, Arizona Airspeed in 1999 and and 2001, France in 2003 and 2008 failed, and France is trying again this year. The NSL News was recently looking for some information in the archives and found by coincidence an interview with Jack Jefferies where Airspeed's Formation Skydiving legend commented the pursuit of double gold. He was visiting the World Meet 2003 in Gap,... (more)
News Article Did you know that Ben Liston joined the coaching staff for Tuesday's FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando?
posted: Jun 7th, 2012 The Florida Skydiving League held the next FSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando on Tuesday this week. The timing was almost perfect since the FSL June meet is coming up this weekend, and several participants could use the opportunity to get some extra training for the competition. In fact, the coaches at the FSL June Kicker were working and flying with five different 4way lineups on Tuesday evening. Four lineups consisted of FSL competitors who came with as many of their team mates as were available. The fifth lineup were the player coaches who had their own 4way action when extra time was available. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Midwest Skydiving League had the slowest start of a 14-year history?
posted: Jun 6th, 2012 The first meet of the Midwest Skydiving League this year completed the scores on last weekend's leaderboard. Only three teams made it to the season opener at Skydive Chicago, summer home of SDC Rhythm XP, and made it the slowest start in the 14-year MWSL history. There was a player coach team with Steve Lefkowitz training on site while the meet was running, which did not not attend. Two other local teams were at Paraclete XP for a tunnel camp with JaNette Lefkowitz on the meet weekend. Six teams was the average number of MWSL participation last year, and six teams had also attended the 2011... (more)
News Article Did you know that iFLY Seattle helps to prepare NWSL teams and competitors for the 2012 outdoor season?
posted: Jun 5th, 2012 The NSL News reported on 16 May 2012 that the Northwest Skydiving League has a comeback this year. NWSL Director Deb Correia mentioned earlier this year that she is working closely together with the iFLY Seattle windtunnel to prepare the NWSL teams and competitors for the 2012 outdoor and NWSL comeback season. Perris Wicked player coach Hannah Betts now reported that she recently attended one of the indoor activities where she was coaching future NWSL teams and competitors at a 3way and 4way indoor meet at iFLY Seattle: "iFLY Seattle held its first IBA 4way and 3way scrambles meet on the... News Article Did you know that Team4speed XP delivered average scores at the Coupe de France?
posted: Jun 4th, 2012 The first Coupe de France event this year in Pamiers also included VFS 4way competition. The NSL News has given this category attention a few times this year, beginning at the Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving Championships 2011. The story on 21 February 2012 followed up with a French experience at the same event. The French national VFS 4way lineup Team4speed XP, reigning world champions, came back to the USA for a training camp during the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012, and the NSL News met with the team members and coach Philippe Schorno for an update, which was posted on 25 April 2012. Team4speed... (more)
