News Article Did you know that Rob Radez is filling the tail slot for Doug Barron?
posted: May 26th, 2018 Florida's Indoor Cloud League team had opened the May competition with the first scores from iFLY Orlando on the 12+ leaderboard and followed up a few weeks later at iFLY Tampa with a set of six scores and videos for the 14+ leaderboard. The total for the new month is only three points short of the 111 points for April, and both Florida teams are now waiting for the results of the other teams on the two Indoor Cloud League leaderboards. The May team finished up the FSL Tunnel Kicker on the 18th once again with a special greeting to SDC Rhythm XP member Doug Barron, who was injured in a low-altitude... (more)
News Article Did you know that Clement Martin Saint Leon has not missed a Gavroche 4-way meet since 2008?
posted: May 24th, 2018 Gavroche Weembi from France was recently part of two NSL News stories that were not directly related to each other. The competition videos of the French 4-way team at the World Challenge 2018 were posted on 22 May 2018 with the story of the 3-team battle for the 5th place. The earlier story on 17 May 2018 confirmed that France will not have an 8-way team at this year's FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving in Australia. The two stories still connect since Gavroche Weembi has a very deep 8-way history. The French national 8-way team of 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012 also included the members... (more)
News Article Did you know that the finish-line is the end of a competition?
posted: May 23rd, 2018 It was 2013 the last time I touched a very sensitive nerve in Formation Skydiving competition: the FAI/IPC rules for my beloved sport. I always try not to be too critical, as I really love the sport and its community, and often I just swallow a few times and move on without saying anything. On the other hand, my German roots, I guess, make it very difficult for me to keep my mouth shut when there is something controversial that I should contribute to a discussion. However, I have come to the point again where I cannot keep my mouth shut and it is the same topic, the rules. For several years,... (more)
News Article Did you know that ISR FireFlash has set the focus on the 20+ outdoor average?
posted: May 22nd, 2018 The Top 9 competition at the World Challenge 2018 featured a 3-team battle for the highest spot behind the four teams that have a 30+ indoor average in their records, even though IFS-Moscow missed this mark in Bedford. This battle for the 5th place pushed ACM Weembi and ISR FireFlash to new team records, and Gavroche had to perform on the team's top level to keep up with the two other top contenders. The NSL News pointed out the impressive ACM Weembi performance and featured the team's meet videos with the update on 13 March 2018. The story was related to the three British teams in the Top... News Article Did you know that Harpia has the AAA Class lead on May's ICL 12+ leaderboard?
posted: May 21st, 2018 The Indoor Cloud League competition of May began with a AAA Class duel on the 12+ leaderboard. The Florida Skydiving League team posted a complete set of scores and videos after the FSL Tunnel Kicker in Orlando at the beginning of the month, which included the AAA Class sequence. The lineup that posted the 10-pointer consisted of two competitors who took on a AAA Class sequence with a slot-switching block for the first time (Suzette Hechst, Kanishka Perera), Amer Kassas who moved up into the AAA Class world at the end of the 2017 season, and Bob Byrne with comprehensive AAA Class experience. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that the French national 4-way teams seem to be on track?
posted: May 20th, 2018 Teams in France launched their 2018 outdoor season this weekend at the first Coupe de France competition in Pamiers. It was an extraordinary event, as most of the teams, with only two exceptions (Espoir Saumur Weembi, N4Forlenas), had competed earlier this year at indoor events, most of them at the French Indoor Nationals 2018. N4Forlenas is a new team, and the French B-Team from Saumur attended the first outdoor competition with a new lineup. The Odin Parachute System team took advantage of the situation and outscored the national B-Team in Pamiers. It was the first outdoor competition... (more)
