Did you know that the Golden Knights attempted the first double-gold mission since 1985? posted: Apr 28th, 2026 The recent French success at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026, where the 4-way Open team Aethers joined forces with the 4-way Women team Nephtys to also claim 8-way gold, prompted NSL News to revisit previous double-gold attempts. French national coach Mathieu Bernier remains the only competitor in history to achieve double gold in 4-way Open and 8-way at the same FAI World Championship, which he accomplished in Menzelinsk 2010. Jeana Billings matched the feat in the 4-way Women and 8-way categories at Crystal Coast 2024.

Did you know that the battle for the Top 10 lived up to expectations? posted: Apr 27th, 2026 Securing a Top 10 position in 4-way Open at Indoor and Outdoor World Cups and World Championships is a valuable achievement. It brings together recreational or amateur teams competing just behind the limited number of teams able to train at a level required for medal contention. Traditionally, the most intense competition spans from 4th to 10th place. While most teams in 4-way Open consist of amateur competitors, additional medal contenders can emerge at any time.

Did you know that the European championship was once again part of the World Cup? posted: Apr 26th, 2026 The FAI Indoor World Cup events automatically include continental championships. However, in most cases, only the teams competing in the European championships appear on the official FAI/ISC leaderboards. The European rankings are derived from the Indoor World Cup results, even though they follow the rules of the World Championships. Only one team per country is represented on the European leaderboard.
The exclusion of non-European teams, along with additional 4-way teams from each country’s delegation, significantly reduces the leaderboard size. A total of 52 teams in horizontal formation... (more)

Did you know that Skywalkers Most’s next FAI/ISC outdoor meet is in Eloy? posted: Apr 23rd, 2026 The fourth-place finish by the Czech team Skywalkers Most—right behind the three medal contenders and the world’s best 4-way teams—at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026 came as no surprise. Expert previews were full of praise for the youngest team in the Top 10 of the field.
