News Article Did you know that Mass Defiance plans to bring back the New England Skydiving League?
posted: Jan 19th, 2006 Great news are coming for the 4-way fans in New England. The USPA Champion of the Advanced Class in 2005, Mass Defiance, prepares to re-launch the New England Skydiving League, together with former NESL Director Beth Murray. Mass Defiance member Ben Liston brought up the subject already in September 2005 and explained the desire of the 4-way fans in New England to join the network of the National Skydiving League. Mass Defiance recently finalized the team plans for the next two years, and these plans include helping to grow the 4-way community in New England. Mass Defiance was probably the... (more)
News Article Did you know that a local newspaper article offers an update of Solly Willams' profile?
posted: Jan 16th, 2006 The Daytona Beach News-Journal has covered several skydiving events of the National Skydiving League at Skydive DeLand in the past. The newspaper also reports regularly of other issues related to the large skydiving community in DeLand. Some of the articles are still posted at the media pages of the NSL website. The latest article, published on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, and written by Elizabeth Owens, offers a profile of Solly Williams. "Extreme achievements keep skydiver motivated" is the headline of a story that reviews Solly's skydiving career from a different perspective. The NSL Profiles... (more)
News Article Did you know that Arizona Divewerkz has completed the AAA Class plans for the 2006 season?
posted: Jan 12th, 2006 Several NSL News stories in 2005 already provided updates of the top teams and their plans for the 2006 season. However, there are also many other teams that may not necessarily go after and past the 20.0 average in the AAA Class. In fact, the majority of the teams competing at 4-way league events set different goals than medals and world class averages. The NSL News always encourages teams and competitors to provide enough information that can make a whole NSL News story in itself. The winter break is the right time to prepare for the new season and to put this kind of information together... (more)
News Article Did you know that Craig Buxton has moved the NSL website from 2005 to 2006?
posted: Jan 11th, 2006 The New Year has finally arrived at the NSL website. Quite obviously, and as the header on the front page clearly shows, the 2005 information has now been archived. The front and index page of skyleague.com leads straight into the 2006 season. However, the Archives still offer all the details of the 2004 and 2005 seasons. It is easy enough to find the information of the two previous years. The navigation column on the left side, below the NSL logo, offers the entrance to the NSL Archives on the very bottom of all the links to the usual feature pages. The archives of the previous years contain... (more)
News Article Did you know that FAI's Max Bishop provided the final and official language of the rule change?
posted: Jan 9th, 2006 The last NSL News story on January 3 mentioned that the Airspeed membership of Thomas Hughes for the World Meet 2006 still depended on a final word from USPA. Marylou Laughlin, USPA's Chair of the Competition Committee, explained for the NSL News at the World Cup 2005 in Eloy that the Board of USPA Directors usually adopts the FAI/IPC rule changes. She only had to wait until the final language of the eligibility rule would be provided by FAI/IPC. The second to last step on Thomas Hughes' way to Germany was now completed. Max Bishop, Secretary General of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale... (more)
News Article Did you know that Airspeed with Thomas Hughes and Eric Gin have seven months to get ready?
posted: Jan 3rd, 2006 The NSL News story on December 16, 2005, introduced the newest NSL Profile of Thomas Hughes. The same article mentioned that Thomas Hughes has joined Arizona Airspeed for the 2006 season. Even though Airspeed and Hughes have already tied the knot, his eligibility as a team member of the US team at the World Meet in Germany 2006 still depends on USPA's ruling. FAI/IPC have already revised the rules for eligibility at international events, which would allow Thomas Hughes to compete for the USA this year. Nothing seems to be in the way for him to be eligible for the US team, as USPA's Chair of... (more)
