News Article Did you know that Arcteryx still tries to get the planned lineup together?
posted: Apr 3rd, 2009 The NSL News had already mentioned a few times that the former Norwegian national team Arcteryx takes it easy this year and has officially retired as Norway's 4-way representative. The lineup of the World Meet 2008 (Derek Broughton, Ole Petter Hjelle, Mathias Nord, Ditta Valsdottir) will compete as the national team one more time at this year's World Games in Taiwan, and that's it - after the World Challenge 2009. Even in Bedford things are not exactly the same as they were in the past two years. Derek Broughton committed already earlier to the player coach position with the young Norwegian... (more)
News Article Did you know that the tunnel entry is more difficult this year at the World Challenge?
posted: Apr 2nd, 2009 The entry into the United Kingdom was much easier than it may have been expected. There still is quite some trouble in the financial district of London downtown where police and protesters clash with each other during the G20 meeting. However, there were no special security measures visible at the airport for visitors from abroad, and London downtown appeared to be as beautiful and peaceful as usual. The entry into the flying chamber of Bodyflight Bedford is much more challenging at this year's World Challenge 2009 for 4-way teams, as the second door to got in and out of the chamber is not there... News Article Did you know that £20,000 are on stake again this weekend in Bedford?
posted: Apr 1st, 2009 There is still a lot of information coming from the results of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009. However, it is time to move forward at the same time for the NSL News, as the first round of the World Challenge 2009 is only a few days away. Teams, competitors and officials will hopefully have a smooth travel to the United Kingdom. This year's World Challenge at Bodyflight Bedford coincides with the G20 Summit in London, where the group of twenty finance ministers and central bank governors, plus political leaders of the world meet to discuss the economic crisis. It may not be the most peaceful... (more)
News Article Did you know that the number of penalties was sigificantly higher in DeLand?
posted: Mar 31st, 2009 The FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009 did not only have the Skins Game as a feature that is unique for a 4-way competition. This year, there was also a new judging procedure that was tested seriously for the first time. The NSL News had mentioned a few times in the previews of the event that the CamScore system would allow judging with slower speed viewings. The NSL News asked for recommendation for the judging speed by the IPC's Formation Skydiving Committee, and Chair Fiona McEachern suggested 70% of the full speed. The teams were informed prior to the meet that judging with slower speed would... (more)
News Article Did you know that Voluntas is the new Danish A-Team throughout the 2010 season?
posted: Mar 30th, 2009 Finally, all teams that competed at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009 have left Florida. Seven of them are getting ready for the next trip to Bedford and the World Challenge 2009. The last team that was leaving DeLand after a few extra days of training after the meet was the Danish team Voluntas, which will also compete at Bodyflight Bedford at the end of this week. The NSL News used the opportunity of the extra time in DeLand for a live interview with the team in the NSL office at the end of last week. Voluntas is Denmark's new national 4-way team and consists of Kasper Brandt-Svanekier, Brian... (more)
