Did You Know...

... that the French national teams control all three events at the World Cup?

Happy again: Incognito
posted Sep 2nd, 2009 - The 8-way teams completed Round 6 today and have left the drop zone. Germany and France have nothing to fight for, but there is a serious battle going on for the bronze medals.

Spain and Russia are going back and forth round by round, both teams are currently tied in 3rd place.

Round 4 is complete in both 4-way events. Aerokart Deep Blue Maubeuge continues to post impressive results. The 20-average level is very much in reach and probably the main goal for the French team. Chicas and Incognito Leutkirch continue with their battle for the silver medals. Incognito lost a point in each of the last two rounds and stopped the downfall in Round 4. The Chicas are still two points ahead.

Scandinavian battle: Evolution and Nexus

Peak Performance for France

Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge, the French national team in the Open Class, has the meet of the team's life time so far, and even Hayabusa Defence cannot keep up.

The 26-pointer in Round 4 was another flawless message, and the 8-way world champions were just a split second away from the completion of Block 22 at the end of the working time.

France is perfectly clean so far with no point deductions at all. Sinapsi lost a point in Round 4, together with Kaktus Hunter and Sweden's Evolution. The three 16-pointers keep the Scandinavian teams (Nexus, Evolution, Pro Team) neck to neck and tied in 14th place.

Working on the bottom: Cyprus

Other Battles

Fusion lost two points in Round 4 and falls behind in the UK Showdown. Kaizen is keeping up with Phobia but losing touch with Sonicnutz. Germany's FSC Eisenach-Paratec was hammered in the fast round and lost five points. The "amateur title" is now far away. Today's double duties may have taken their toll...

Last not least, literally, Turkey and Cyprus battle for the bottom spot of the leaderboard. Cyprus fell three points behind in Round 1 and won back a point in Round 4 after two tied rounds. Everything is possible in this internal race of the two teams from the mediterranean part of Europe. Round 5 is in progress.

Nexus coach Marco Arrigo

NSL-TV DZ Tour

The NSL News used the weather hold to capture videos of several activities. The overview of the drop zone shows how the Russian competitors kill their time on the ground with games.

Then the camera found hard-working coach Marco Arrigo at the mockup with his Norwegian team Nexus. The team seems to get along with his coach really well...

Finally, the NSL-TV camera arrived at the location of the Fun Flag, and it looked fine. The camera moved on and captured more scenes of the busy place. Visitors from Denmark, former competitors Meggie and Flemming Nøddegaard were hanging out in the sun with Jury President Pal Bergan from Norway.

Fun Flag Gone

Then it happened. The NSL News got notice that the Fun Flag was gone, and it was true after double checking it. The special spot on the big screen was empty, and it was a sad picture. The NSL News investigated on site and was informed that the UK delegation was involved once again.

French team physiotherapist Mathieu Deschamps had attempted to take possession of the Fun Flag and failed. The UK delegation had set up guards who apparently detected the Frenchman's activities. It took a 2-versus-1 battle to fend off Monsieur Deschamps, but the Brits won.

The NSL News found the strong French therapist and asked him for details. The live interview is a part the new video clip.

The competition is back in full swing. Teams and competitors of all events are boarding the planes. Judges and staff have their hands full. The next scores of complete rounds in all three Formation Skydiving categories will be posted very soon. Stay tuned.
