News Article Did you know that the Rookie Class competition has become a major factor of the Carolina Skydiving League?
posted: Jun 21st, 2006 The Rookie Class competition continues to be a major factor in the 2006 season of the Carolina Skydiving League. Three of the four teams that competed last weekend attended each of the three CASL meets this year, and the competition is still as exciting as it has been so far. Fast Fockers and Luckiest Guy in Raeford switched their positions once again after the four rounds at Carolina Sky Sports last weekend. Fast Fockers had won the first meet of the season in April over Luckiest Guy, and the Raeford team took the first place in the Rookie Class competition of the second CASL meet in May. (more)
News Article Did you know that the Rookie Class competition is hot again this year in Carolina?
posted: May 22nd, 2006 The second meet of the Carolina Skydiving League 2006 season was held at Skydive Carolina in Chester SC on May 20, 2006. DZO Danny Smith and his efficient staff proved to be excellent hosts for the 11 teams that registered for the meet. The really fast Twinotter, provided by Fayard Enterprises, and the helpful manifest allowed us to complete four rounds between the weather systems. After a 2-hour weather hold on Saturday morning, the 11 teams (1 AAA, 7 AA and 3 Rookie), completed four rounds before the meet was called when the thunderstorms returned in the afternoon. Carolina Ice received the... (more)

News Article Did you know that Carolina Ice and Raeford SkyCatz will represent the Carolina Skydiving League?
posted: Aug 23rd, 2005 Carolina Ice and Raeford SkyCatz are the lucky winners of the Paraclete sponsorship in the Carolina Skydiving League. Both teams can begin making travel arrangements to the USPA Nationals (Carolina Ice) and the NSL Championship (Raeford SkyCatz). They will represent the Carolina Skydiving League at these two events. Carolina Ice is the defending NSL Champion in the AA Class after winning the NSL Championship of the AA Class at SkyQuest 2004. However, Ice has not won a USPA medal yet after a disqualification last year. This year's USPA Championship in Perris will be the opportunity for Ice's... (more)
News Article Did you know that three former AFF students and instructor Tony Thacker competed in Raeford?
posted: Aug 5th, 2005 The 4th meet of the Carolina Skydiving League 2005 season at Raeford, NC, looked like another weather-endangered event. Low ceilings hung over the DZ all morning until the staff at Raeford sent a Cessna up to probe the ceilings. The meet began at 11:00 AM, and all but two teams completed five rounds before the rain began in the afternoon. During the weather hold, Tim D’Annunzio of Paraclete Armor and Equipment, a CASL sponsor, conducted an auction to benefit Liz, a Raeford packer injured in a motorcycle accident. Skycat Equipment donated two Bonehead helmets, a PD Sabre II 135 canopy, two... (more)
News Article Did you know that the first NSL scores of last weekend's events are from Carolina?
posted: Jun 28th, 2005 The scores of the European Skydiving League came in much faster last weekend and were mostly posted already during the meet activities across the ocean. The Carolina Skydiving League has followed with a complete update, provided by CASL Director Randy Garman and CaSL webmaster Rhonda Wilcox. Here is Garman's meet summary: Although the weather threatened to cut the day short, the smooth running staff of Skydive Carolina enabled the 3rd CaSL meet for 2005 to complete all six rounds on Saturday. Special thanks to Eric the pilot as the Otter did not shut down all day, if you know what I mean. Danny... (more)
