News Article Did you know that the Northern Plains teams competed at the Couch Freak Boogie last weekend?
posted: Sep 7th, 2005 NSL competition continued in the Northern Plains Skydiving League, while the majority of 4-way teams in the country competed at the USPA Nationals 2005 in Perris. Seven teams competed at the Couch Freak Boogie, and Fast FWD member Bill Rehm updated the NSL News with the NPSL information. In the AAA Class, Gang Green ran uncontested and had a rocky meet but a bit of fun. They were the only AAA Class team eligible for medals this season and the NPSL AAA Class trophy returned to Skydive Wissota with Gang Green. In the A Class, the Wissota Shockers greatly improved their performance over the... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Northern Plains Skydiving League keeps the momentum going?
posted: Jul 23rd, 2005 The Northern Plains Skydiving League received priority on NSL-TV before the next FSL and SSL jumps will be shown. It was the first time this year that NPSL footage has been available, and it covers the second NPSL 2005 meet in June. This event deserves even more special attention since it marked a new record participation for the league guided by director Sandy Grillet. The details of the NPSL record meet were covered in the NSL News story on June 20. By the way, NPSL team Microburst includes Sandy Grillet and his son Nick working in the center positions. (more)
News Article Did you know that last weekend's coverage begins with record participation in the Northern Plains?
posted: Jun 20th, 2005 The NPSL had a record turnout of nine 4-way teams show up at Skydive Twin Cities in Baldwin Wisconsin. Even so, the excellent organization by manifest and sunny weather allowed us to complete the entire meet in a single day and still keep SDTC's regular business moving with the one Twin Otter. Skydive Twin Cities just a week ago witnessed a Class 2 tornado that touched down just a couple miles to the west. Luckily, this weekend was all sunshine. (more)
News Article Did you know that the NPSL continues to grow??
posted: May 17th, 2005 The Northern Plains Skydiving League held the first meet of 2005 at Skydive Iowa May 14 and 15. A planned training camp on May 13 was called due to weather, and travelling coach Robert Chromy took the day to explain each block of the dive pool to the gathered teams. Complementary DVD footage of the US Golden Knights was used as video aid. Every team was able to learn and practice and creep the blocks. Three new teams joined the NPSL ranks and indications are that by the second meet, we'll have about three more than that. Red Bull provided energy drinks for the meet. (more)
News Article Did you know that the Northern Plains Skydiving League makes plans to recruit new blood?
posted: Jul 19th, 2004 Our very own Neal Elm (Fair ABBA) wrote up a glowing discussion on Chromy's qualifications, including building his own windtunnel from discarded shingles, and inventing the internet - this review was in order to draw in some additional/new NSL competitors. However, it was for naught. No new teams this meet, but full participation from our, now, six regular competition teams. So quickly to it - With a rather slow draw in both AAA and AA, it was hard work for all six teams. Also, with Goz off to a USPA board meeting, Chromy had to provide double duty as both meet coach and chief judge. (more)
News Article Did you know that that the NPSL continues to get lucky with great weather and even greater coaching?
posted: Jun 16th, 2004 The Northern Plains Skydiving League opened up the second meet Saturday morning with blues skies and no wind. The surf was up for the NPSL meet two at Skydive Twin Cities with three new teams joining the league. This again followed a week of thunderstorms even into Friday night. The three new teams beginning their seasons at this meet were Mind Crime and Fair ABBA in the AAA Class, plus Cockeyed in the AA Class.Mind Crime reunites from last year and competes once again in the AAA Class. Mind Crime 2004 consists of Andy Junghans (Insice Center), Greg Heideman (Point), John Arnold (Tail), Dan Feess... (more)
