Yesterday’s update highlighted the performance of the second Czech 4-way Open Class team, Panthers, at the same event, as well as their remarkable 80-round progression this year. The Czech junior team was part of a tightly packed group of eight teams that finished within a 12-point range on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard.
The three senior teams from Eastern Europe pushed each
other to their highest performance level and eventually created a noticeable gap to the five teams behind them. That second group of contenders finished within only six points of each other (207 - 201). The round highscores clearly showed that all five teams had the potential to top this closely contested internal leaderboard. The second U.S. team in 4-way Open, Killers of Hopes and Dreams, ultimately emerged as the winner of the five-team battle after posting the highest scores in four rounds. The French team Oblivion actually claimed six round highscores but still finished two points behind the U.S. team overall.

In fact, the lineup that competed at the 2025 U.S. indoor championship was identical to the 2024 team, including player-coaches Jeana Billings and Kirk Verner. However, Jeana Billings competed with XP Angels in 4-way Women and with Paraclete XP8 at Weembi Lille, which made her ineligible to compete with another 4-way team at the same event. Kirk Verner was fully occupied with keeping his 8-way team in medal contention and did not take on the additional workload of competing in both 4-way and 8-way.
As a result, Jill Stephenson and Ian Pedowitz remained the only returning members of the 4-way lineup, while both also served as alternates for the U.S. 8-way team. They completed the roster with Laura Galdamez and Christy West, who were both competing in 8-way for Infinite Octane XP at the same event. Without their world champion player-coaches, the revised lineup could not maintain the same performance level and ultimately finished among the group of eight teams behind the Top 10 contenders.

Four members of the Netunos 8-way team — Ricardo Pereira dos Santos, Joao Carlos Falbo Mansur, Marcelo Galvao Saraiva and Pedro Ushizima Junior — also joined forces to compete in 4-way. Their 8-
way teammates Jorge Neto and Lucas Weiss teamed up with 4-way specialist George Narita and young Enrico Almeida Ce to secure a Top 10 finish in 4-way Open.
Windobona Angels and the Czech junior team Panthers finished only six points behind the U.S. team Killerz of Hopes and Dreams in this tightly contested group, sharing 19th place overall. At the same time, both teams remained eleven points ahead of the next team on the leaderboard and were the last teams in the standings to surpass the 20.0 average benchmark.
