posted Feb 15th, 2023 - The NSL News mentioned on February 10th that Lori Connor, founding director of the Northern California Skydiving League, had confirmed a schedule for the 2023 season. It is the next comeback of 4-way leagues in the NSL Network.

The confirmation followed the announcement of the Southern California Skydiving League that Christy Frikken has taken the position of the league director, which Arizona Airspeed's 4-way world champion of 2012, Josh Hall, has had since 2014. The NSL News reported the news from Southern California on February 5th.

Lori Connor recently announced the comeback of the Northern California Skydiving League and her own as the league director:

"It's been a while, actually, three years to be exact. The Northern California Skydiving League (NCSL) is back after a break that began March 2020. Most of you know, the NCSL was very active beginning mid-2013, with regular meets, skills camps, and hundreds of tunnel competitions at both of our NorCal tunnels, until the world changed in March 2020. Also, just in case you don't know, this is a 4-way formation skydiving league affiliated with the National Skydiving League. The mission of the NCSL has always been to provide fun 4-way competitions, but also to increase the skill level of our belly flyers in NorCal. I'm very happy to be back and can't wait to see everyone, and for the fun to begin!"

Indoor Cloud League December 2013: iFLY SF Bay Highscores

The Northern California Skydiving League was actually launched by Lori Connor in 2014. The 2013 events that Lori Connor related to in her announcement were the indoor training camps and competitions of the newly introduced Indoor Cloud League team at iFLY SF Bay.

Lori Connor had launched the Indoor Cloud League events a year before she followed up with outdoor competition opportunities for the same 4-way community. Her iFLY SF Bay team posted scores and videos on the combined ICL leaderboards in 2013 - 2015 until it was time to create separate the 12-foot and 14+ flying chambers.

The iFLY SF Bay team continued on the 12+ leaderboard with several other teams until the corona virus crisis put an end to the second Indoor Cloud League leaderboard, while a few 14+ teams worked their way through the challenging three years 2020 - 2022.

Lori Connor organized her last Indoor Cloud League events in January and February 2020 and then stepped back as many other organizers and participants. Her comeback now begins with the events of the Northern California Skydiving League, while her Indoor Cloud League and World Tunnel League events are still in hibernation.

The first year of the Northern California Skydiving League in 2014 coincided with Josh Hall volunteering as the SCSL Director and providing his 4-way world champion experiences to the 4-way community in Southern California.

Josh Hall was familiar with the synchronization of event dates and competition draws on NSL meet weekends, after competing with his own teams at several events of the Southwest and Southern California Skydiving League. Events of different 4-way leagues on the same weekend can either happen by coincidental scheduling or by planning.

Lori Connor and Josh Hall coordinated their season openers in April 2014, which created a more colorful leaderboard of 4-way teams in the whole state of California.

The situation is similar this year, as Lori Connor scheduled one of her events in Northern California on the same meet weekend as the July competition in Southern California.

Team XXXXO, with a high-profile lineup, including former SDC Rhythm XP member of 2008 - 2011, Rob Radez, finished on the top of the AAA Class leaderboard. Rhythm's next lineup, with Christy Frikken and Mikhail Markine (2013 - 2015), were present to compete in Perris, as the NSL News reported on 12 May 2014, and bad weather interfered. Christy Frikken will now be back as new SCSL Director, together with Lori Connor in Northern California.
