News Article Did you know that the Falcons won the first FAI gold medals for Qatar's formation skydiving delegation?
posted: Sep 5th, 2025 The first NSL News update from the 8-way competition at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 came after the first two rounds, and after Prison 9 finished Round 1 only one single point behind the Qatar Falcons. It seemed like there could be more competition on the top of the 8-way leaderboard than expected. The Qatar Falcons and coach Jeremie Rollett understood the message from the U.S. team well enough and corrected the situation instantly with a 4-point difference in Round 2. Prison 9 did even better in Round 5 when they tied the Qatar highscore of 19 points. However, there was eventually a 34-point... (more)
News Article Did you know that the competition season is not over for the world's Top 3?
posted: Sep 4th, 2025 Matt Landsmann produced the last summary of the competition action at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025, once again with Regan Tetlow anchoring the show. The 5th and last competition day had the happy ending with the completion of all scheduled competition rounds. The 4-way Open Class competition provided the insights on the top of the leaderboard, one year away from the next outdoor world championship, where the medal winners at Skydive Teuge could meet each other again. The battle for the positions behind the medal winners was just as exciting as expected. It featured the Czech Skywalkers eventually... (more)
News Article Did you know that Skywalkers Junior shared the podium with Aethers Lille and NMP PCH HayaBusa?
posted: Sep 3rd, 2025 Four more rounds had to be completed in 4-way Open and 8-way, three in 4-way Women and VFS, on the last day of the competition. There was even a deadline at 4 pm on Tuesday that the meet director had set to be able to accommodate judging of the last rounds, paperwork, and the award ceremony in the evening. There was serious time pressure, and the weather was still not perfect. Meet director Ronald Overdijk, ISC delegate for the Netherlands, asked the teams and competitors to support shortening the call from 45 minutes between competition rounds to 30 minutes. There was general agreement, and... (more)
News Article Did you know that the 4-way Open Class leaderboard still offers very exciting competition?
posted: Sep 2nd, 2025 The FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 has been struggling with the weather. The whole Monday was another challenging situation for management and participants who had to be ready whenever the conditions were good enough for a few rounds. It is quite impressive that the three Cessna Caravans, their pilots and the meet director are still looking back at a competition that could still be completed with good weather forecast for Tuesday. It looks promising in the morning. The 4-way Open Class teams need four more completed rounds, and they are scheduled to launch the operation on Tuesday morning. The 4-way... (more)
News Article Did you know that German Airbus videographer Erik Lorenz scored nine points in Round 5?
posted: Sep 1st, 2025 The 2025 story of the German national 8-way team, Airbus Oceanside Illertissen, began when team captain Thomas "Spieli" Spielvogel decided to join previous opponent Operation Adler, who had competed for Germany with their own 2024 lineup at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024. Steffen Schiedek became the new team captain and recruited a new 2025 lineup, with 4-way and 8-way veterans Henning Stumpp and Uli Sehrbrock replacing Thomas Spielvogel and Holger Sass. Main goal for the year was the participation at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025. New member Uli Sehrbrock had to withdraw right before... (more)
News Article Did you know that Out Of The Blue continue with Siem Ibens?
posted: Sep 1st, 2025 Sven Ibens is one of the original NMP PCH HayaBusa members, together with David Grauwels, who is still on camera for the current HayaBusa lineup. He lives not far from the border between Belgium and the Netherlands, and it was not much of a surprise that he came to visit the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 yesterday. He did not train and compete with HayaBusa any longer when the FAI World Cup 2015 was hosted ten years ago by Skydive Teuge. However, his wife Annelies Hasewinkel-Ibens was a member of the Dutch 8-way team M8trix who challenged the Qatar Falcons for the FAI 8-way bronze medals in 2015,... (more)
