The complete event information of the Malevsky Cup 2005 is still available and can be found either by clicking on the Malevsky Cup logo on the top of the homepage or by navigating to the International league page and the according event date. Did you know that four AA Class teams competed in Colorado last weekend? posted: Jul 13th, 2005 Colorado Skydiving League Director Brian Vande Krol provided scores and the meet story of last weekend's competition, while the NSL News was on the return trip from Russia.
Four teams! We had four teams at the Colorado Skydiving League AA Class meet! All four teams got six rounds done, and a good time was had by all. Mile Hi provided us with a Skydive Arizona Otter, Tessie did a terrific job manifesting, and Suzie, the pilot from Skydive Arizona gave us great spots all day long.

Did you know that the Canadian team Stratosfear has possession of the Fun Flag? posted: Jul 11th, 2005 The fast round ten of the 4-way competition at the Malevsky Cup 2005 allowed all teams to raise the meet average for the whole meet. It was also an opportunity to go after national highscore records.
The NSL News could not keep track of all new official records that were posted in this round. However, the Canadian national team Stratosfear informed the NSL News that the team's score of 20 points in round ten would be a new Canadian 4-way record. The old and official Canadian highscore of 19 points was already posted in 1997.

Did you know that Gary Smith stepped onto the Malevsky Stage to receive the fourth gold medal? posted: Jul 10th, 2005 Gary Smith is the Outside Center of DeLand Fire. He won the bronze medal with the South African 4-way team Equanimity in 1997, moved to the USA and formed DeLand Majik in 2001. Majik won the 4-way gold medals at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving in Croatia 2004.
DeLand Majik with Gary Smith won the Malevsky Cup in 2002, 2003 and 2004. His new team, DeLand Fire, was formed at the end of 2004 and left the rest of the 4-way field in the dust at the Malevsky Cup 2005. It was the fourth time for Gary Smith that he climbed up onto the Malevsky stage to receive the gold medals and the check.... (more)
Did you know that Kirk Verner explained the Malevsky Cup 2005 from the Airspeed perspective? posted: Jul 9th, 2005 The 8-way competition was completed Wednesday night, and the scores and meet videos were posted shortly after the conclusion of the competition. France and Arizona Airspeed could not have made it any more exciting for the 8-way fans on site and on the internet. Round ten was like a jump-off between these two teams. How did it get to that situation?
The 8-way race between France and Airspeed was a 1-point affair from the beginning to the end. None of the two best 8-way teams in the world was able to steal more than one point in any round except the second one. Both teams had three highscores... (more)
