posted: Sep 11th, 2007 It was a rainy Monday night in Ottawa, Illinois, and that was a good thing. The rain front went through at the right time, and the skies cleared up quickly on Tuesday morning. The 8-way competition of the USPA Nationals 2007 is in full swing. The NSL News goes back to the 4-way competition with a few new videos of Perris Fury. The Formation Skydiving delegation from Perris was of an impressive size. Dan BC said that eight 4-way teams and four 8-way teams traveled from California to Illinois. Most of the teams are a part of the Perris Fury project. (more)
News Article Did you know that "pick-up teams" are on the top of the 8-way leaderboard?
posted: Sep 10th, 2007 The 8-way competition of the USPA Nationals 2007 is already in full swing. Round 3 is in progress, and the two "pick-up teams" on the top of the leaderboard are posting world-class scores on a 20-point average level. Two other "pick-up teams" are not too far behind the top scorers. It sounds funny, but the these four teams have in fact hardly any training jumps together - at least not recently. Arizona Airspeed's line-up consists of the four Odyssey members, plus Jack Jefferies, Dennis Rook, Brian Johnson and Dan BC. Will Pesek is filming the team. News Article Did you know that Team Fastrax Red is challenging Airspeed Odyssey?
posted: Sep 8th, 2007 The next meet videos have already been uploaded. Steve Redinbo, Team Fastrax Red's videographer, took the time to provide the NSL News and the valued audience and USPA membership with footage directy from his helmet camera. Round 3 can be viewed by clicking on the 26-pointer's link on the leaderboard. Team Fastrax has completed the same number of points as Airspeed Odyssey in each round so far. One infringement at the finish of Block 11 (Photon - Photon) reduced the score for the first round from 23 to 22 points. The NSL-TV audience is invited to look for the flaw. (more)
News Article Did you know that KnightTrax plans to be competitive in 8-way?
posted: Aug 31st, 2007 The first NSL News story that covered the British Nationals 2007 on August 21 mentioned that there was a mysterious team in first place after three rounds: "Then a new surprise waited for the local and worldwide audience. The ghost team FlightSchool posted a 28-pointer for the first round and shocked the AAA Class field." It was rather a guest team, not a ghost team, and the NSL News learned soon who was in the line-up: "The FlightSchool line-up even consisted of three British competitors, all former XL members (John McIver, Steve Hamilton, Thomas Hughes) and Niklas Hemlin." News Article Did you know that Perris Fury might not be an underdog any longer?
posted: Aug 23rd, 2007 The NSL News goes back to the July meet of the California Skydiving League at Skydive Elsinore. The videos of Round 4 have now been uploaded and can be viewed on NSL-TV. The British top contender in the AAA/Open Class, the all-female Team Storm line-up, had the last serious meet test that weekend in Elsinore and improved the June average of 17.8 to 19.0 in July. Team Storm is currently three points ahead of Team Elan after three rounds at the UK Nationals 2007. Team Storm's coach, Dan BC, can be viewed once again in competition action with the Founding Fathers. Dan BC will compete again for... (more)
