News Article Did you know that France keeps moving and Sinapsi keeps climbing?
posted: Sep 3rd, 2009 Rounds 7 and 8 have been completed in the female 4-way category, and the slower sequences had their impact on the French team, as well. The 20.8 average after six rounds is down to a 19.5 average after Round 8. The pace will pick up again in Round 9, and Round 10 offers the opportunity to possibly go back to the 20-average level. As expected, the Chicas played out their routine and experiences in the slower rounds. There was no chance for Incognito to attack, and the Chicas even added another point to the lead. The ladies are going on a longer break now, as the other events have to catch up. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that there is motion on the World Cup's leaderboard?
posted: Sep 3rd, 2009 Thursday morning it is at the FAI World Cup 2009, and everything is still perfectly on track so far, despite a few little problems with the weather. All Formation Skydiving events have completed their six rounds, and today's weather is promising so far. The French national team in the 4-way category, Aerokart Deep Blue Maubeuge, arrived this morning at the drop zone and faced a surprise - the tent had crashed. Sabotage? The only way to disrupt the impressive performance? Nothing can stop the team that likes to laugh a lot, the tent was back up quickly. The two German female lineups, Chicas... (more)
News Article Did you know that Round 5 brought a lot of damage to the teams?
posted: Sep 2nd, 2009 Round 5 at the FAI World Cup 2009 was the most interesting round of the competition in many ways. It was a neck-breaker for some teams and a showcase for others. No other round had a number of penalties that came even close to the point deductions in Round 5. The Murphy Flake as the exit formation and the subterminal move to the first Stardian of Block 6 caused a lot of trouble for the videographers, as well as for some teams. The Swedish team Evolution funneled the exit and had additional penalties later on. Evolution ended up with a 9-pointer and fell hopelessly behind Nexus and the... (more)
News Article Did you know that the French national teams control all three events at the World Cup?
posted: Sep 2nd, 2009 The 8-way teams completed Round 6 today and have left the drop zone. Germany and France have nothing to fight for, but there is a serious battle going on for the bronze medals. Spain and Russia are going back and forth round by round, both teams are currently tied in 3rd place. Round 4 is complete in both 4-way events. Aerokart Deep Blue Maubeuge continues to post impressive results. The 20-average level is very much in reach and probably the main goal for the French team. Chicas and Incognito Leutkirch continue with their battle for the silver medals. Incognito lost a point in each of the... (more)
News Article Did you know that the French competitors will have a very busy afternoon?
posted: Sep 2nd, 2009 A small weather system put the teams on a weather hold for a little while. The 8-way teams suffered the interruption, while the 4-way teams came back to the drop zone after a morning off. This causes more work now for Bryan Burke who tries to keep everything on course. All events will be active this afternoon, as the 8-way teams and the artistic competitors have not completed yet what was planned for them. Five 8-way rounds are in the bag, and Round 6 will begin shortly. The French 4-way and 8-way competitors will have a very busy afternoon, and Bryan Burke has to coordinate their agenda. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that new videos show a flawless French 4-way team?
posted: Sep 2nd, 2009 Wednesday morning begins with a little treat for the NSL News audience. CamScore provided some footage, which made it much easier to put together a few jumps for reviews. The first clip features the 4-way teams on the top of the leaderboard, including all three rounds of the French national team, Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge. It really is a treat, as these three rounds are almost flawless and present a French 4-way team that is five and more points ahead of the best teams in the world, except the US teams. The Airspeed world champions will probably take a very good look at these videos. The same... (more)
