Did you know that the MWSL season opener featured competition in all four categories? posted: Jun 27th, 2010 It was déjà vu time at Skydive Chicago as some of the stormiest weather of the year hit Northern Illinois the night before our MWSL meet. But the weather settled down enough to get most of the season opener in before the wind caused some teams to have to end their meet early.
Eight teams, conveniently enough two in each NSL competition class, were on hand for the meet. The field included nationally ranked SDC Rhythm XP, MWSL veterans SDC Furies and Just4Fun as well as some teams competing for the first time.

Did you know that Norway's June weather was twice as good as in May? posted: Jun 27th, 2010 Norway held the second meet of the Norwegian Cup this weekend, and the weather was twice as good compared to the first meet of the 2010 season. The Norwegian teams had completed only one single round at the May meet. The weather this weekend allowed the completion of two rounds...
The Norwegian national 4-way team X3M4S had attended the first meet of the season with the complete lineup. This time, members of the team participated only as player coaches. Kjetil Rookie Nordin reported that the Saturday started out cloudy, and once the skies cleared up, the wind picked up as well.

Did you know that the French 8-way team is trying to catch up? posted: Jun 26th, 2010 The NSL News story on 13 June 2010 had covered the performance of the Frecnh national 4-way team, Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge, at the first meet of the Coupe de France 2010. The event took place on the same meet weekend when Arizona Airspeed competed at the Midway Battle.
The French national 8-way team used the same opportunity for a last test before traveling to Menzelinsk in Russia for the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010, and the Golden Knights used the same competition draw at the Midway Battle. Did you know that the Sky Panthers missed a new 4-way world record by an inch? posted: Jun 25th, 2010 Last weekend's record leaderboard of the 2010 season has been replaced. New numbers from Russia have taken over, and the scores of the Russian Nationals 2010 are very impressive.
The Sky Panthers won the 4-way competition with a 25.4 average and missed a new world record for a single round by an inch. Michail Kuznetsov, Vladimir Pavlenko, Oleg Shalomikhin and Sergej Shenin, with Andrey Seliverstov on camera, tied the 45-pointer that Spaceland Force XP scored at the USPA Nationals 2009.

Did you know that the Dallas Super Cup has a comeback this year? posted: Jun 24th, 2010 The Dallas Super Cup 2010 has been scheduled on the NSL Calendar of Events for quite a while. Dallas Rogue members and the Skydive Dallas management have taken on the project to bring back a 4-way competition that was quite popular years ago.
The 4-way competition is scheduled for the August 7 weekend, and the participating teams have the opportunity to win some cash prizes. A total of $1,800 will be shared between the winning teams in the three competition classes: AAA Class $1,000 - AA Class $500 - A Class $300.

Did you know that the Founding Fathers 4-way fun continues? posted: Jun 23rd, 2010 The Founding Fathers of the Southern California Skydiving League, Dan BC and John Hamilton, appeared with their own 4-way lineup for a meet during the first SCSL season in 2007. Christopher Irwin and Pat McGowan completed the pickup team, Pat Newman was filming the team.
The Founding Fathers have come back with different lineups once in a while ever since. Last weekend, Dan BC and John Hamilton teamed up with Paraclete XP8 member Todd Hawkins and Bodyflight Storm 4-way world champion of 2008, Hannah Betts.
The 17.2 average still stands for the 3rd place on the recent AAA Class leaderboard.... (more)
