Did you know that the SDC Furies XP are the TEAM of the WEEKEND? posted: Jun 14th, 2011 The NSL News mentioned on 11 June 2011 that the sequence of Round 8 would challenge Arizona Airspeed. It was probably the slowest sequence of last weekend's 10-round competition draw, as the SDC Rhythm XP (15) and SDC Furies XP (10) scores for Round 8 show.
The question remains open whether Airspeed would be able to score 21 points or higher for that sequence since the team had to quit after Round 7 to make the departure time for the flight home to Arizona. There will be another time when the same or a similar sequence will be drawn at a meet that Airspeed attends.

Did you know that local UK teams did well at Langar last weekend? posted: Jun 13th, 2011 Last weekend saw 21 teams compete across the four categories at the June Meet of the United Kingdom Skydiving League (UKSL) in Langar. Many of the teams are already familiar to the NSL News audience after having competed at previous UKSL competitions. However, a number of local teams also joined in the competition and did rather well with a total of 4/10 podium places going to Langar based teams.
Teams began to arrive Friday night to get registered, erect tents and, in some cases, borrow suitable jumping footwear from other teams having forgotten to bring their own...

Did you know that Round 8 will challenge Arizona Airspeed? posted: Jun 12th, 2011 It came as it had to be expected. Sweden's national team Bardagi had to accept the 3rd place position in the AAA Class overall rankings, and Arizona Airspeed has no problem so far beating the 20-point level in each round. In fact, there is a very good chance that Airspeed will score only 21 points and higher.
Even the slowest sequence of the meet in Round 2 (13-20-Q) turned out to be a 21-pointer for Airspeed. This weekend's videos of the Swedish national team Bardagi include Round 2, which brought together the odd combination of Block 13 and Block 20. The latest dive pool change allowed this... (more)
Did you know that Bardagi has the lead until Midway Battle scores come in? posted: Jun 11th, 2011 It was 5:30 PM at Skydive Chicago when the three AAA Class teams heard their 20-minute call for Round 1. The scores from the United Kingdom and Sweden have been coming in all day long, even though the weather was not perfect everywhere. The Midway Battle was obviously suffering the most of all meets this weekend. However, more scores will probably be added later.
The teams in Europe have been done for a while for today, as they are five to six hours ahead of the US teams. Two of the three Swedish teams are not knew to the NSL News audience. Bardagi is the national 4-way team that competed together... (more)
Did you know that the Valentine's/World Meet combination has scored five times since 1995? posted: Jun 10th, 2011 The Midway Battle at Skydive Chicago is only a confrontation between the weather and the teams so far. There was one attempt to get a plane to jump altitude, which did not work out well. The whole load, including Arizona Airspeed, landed with the Twin Otter. The competitors on site have been entertaining themselves with playing games ever since, Thomas Hughes reported.
Mark Kirkby mentioned that the competition draw is surely "middle of the road". There is no 3-block sequence, and none of the jumps has more than two random formations. Seven of the ten rounds begin with a block, and only three... (more)
Did you know that an international meet weekend with Airspeed is coming up? posted: Jun 9th, 2011 The upcoming meet weekend will be an exciting one. Arizona Airspeed is at Skydive Chicago to defend the Midway Battle title that the 2010 lineup won with a 26.4 average after five rounds. It was only a small 5-team field last year, which was still very competitive with top contenders Perris Fury, Canada Evolution and SDC Rhythm XP.
The home teams, SDC Rhythm XP and SDC Furies XP, are the only other teams coming back to this year's Midway Battle. However, Airspeed will definitely break the first record of the 2011 season and take the lead as the busiest competition team at this point in time.... (more)
