News Article Did you know that 45 minutes can make a big difference?
posted: Aug 9th, 2011 Almost 100 NSL judges made an on-line call for the 8way situation in Round 9 at the World Cup 2011. The majority (57%) thought that the last 7 seconds of the Golden Knights video have enough visibility to approve a scoring. 43% did not see enough of the formations and maneuvers. The ending on a sour note eventually turned into a happy end when French 4way and 8way member Emmanuel "Manu" Sarrazin posted a note in the poll's forum and acknowledged that the Golden Knights deserved the gold medals: "Hello, the GK was the fastest team in Round 9, their jump was more fluid and they had two more... News Article Did you know that the 8way competition ended on a sour note?
posted: Aug 7th, 2011 The 8way competition for the gold medals between Aerodyne Maubeuge and Golden Knights was the most contested event. Round 10 was supposed to be the Grande Finale of the whole World Cup 2011. It turned out differently. The weather did not cooperate any longer for the whole Saturday. The two missing 4way rounds were completed in the morning and before the weather situation began to deteriorate. It became quite obvious that Round 10 would not happen any longer when a big storm came in. In fact, the 8way teams just completed Round 9, literally by the second, as the Golden Knights had almost exactly... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Brit Chicks have turned from red to black?
posted: Aug 6th, 2011 It is time to introduce the most popular team of the World Cup 2011 and the team that may even have most of the fun at the same time. Most likely, the Brit Chicks are the most popular team because they have so much fun. The NSL News had the Brit Chicks on the list for NSL Talk for a while, and the opportunity came up yesterday during one of the many weather delays. The lineup includes Jo Hawley who has provided the NSL News with updates from the United Kingdom on a regular basis. That alone was a good reason to hand over the lead of the conversation to her. Lesley Gale is the team captain... (more)

News Article Did you know that the 8way competition has a fresh start in Round 8?
posted: Aug 5th, 2011 The NSL News was prepared to cover a world record jump in 8way from all angles. The preview of Round 7 was posted earlier, with the comments by coaches and competitors. The NSL-TV camera picked it back up when the first announcements came for the Golden Knights and Aerodyne Maubeuge. Both teams met in their headquarters at Tent City to begin with their final preparations. Getting dressed, taking care of babies and moms, getting the last instructions, some warmup exercises took place before both teams headed to the hangar for creeping and dirtdives. Both teams were as well prepared as usual... (more)
