Did you know that the MidAtlantic Rookies had a true scramble at Cross Keys last weekend? posted: Sep 7th, 2011 Freefall Adventures and MidAtlantic Skydiving League joined forces for the second time this year to offer Rookie Class competitors the opportunity to learn more about 4way and make some fun skydives at Cross Keys. Once again, host Freefall Adventures provided free slots for coaches and videographers at the September meet last weekend.
MASL Director Dennis Miller remembered that the MASL community had learned at the last MASL Scrambles in June that tunnel experience can be just as valuable as jump numbers. This experience lead to the conclusion that the MASL pool of participants was fairly even... (more)
Did you know that Fenix mastered the first AAA Class competition with the highest meet average? posted: Sep 6th, 2011 The national championships in Brazil are always one of the last events every year. The Nationals 2011 took place last weekend, and none of the participating teams had competed at the World Cup 2011.
However, three of the team names on the current leaderboard have been on other ones this year before competing for the national honors, and the Brazilian national team CTR Optimum has been on NSL leaderboards for many years. The NSL News story on 26 May 2011 was still wondering whether the Brazilian CISM lineup, X-Dogs, might be able to put up a fight for CTR Optimum this year.
The X-Dogs finished... (more)
Did you know that Bardagi won the annual battle with Blue Spirits in Sweden? posted: Sep 4th, 2011 Another national championship shortly after the World Cup 2011 took place in Sweden.
It happened between the completion of the Czech Nationals and the start of the German Nationals.
This time, it was the Swedish national 4way team Bardagi that still had to defend the national title after attending the World Cup 2011 in Germany. Bardagi knew that the annual archrival, Blue Spirits, would be waiting there to make it as difficult as possible for Bardagi, and once again it was not a walk in the park.
Bardagi won by 11 points after ten rounds, however, Blue Spirits was a formidable opponent,... (more)
Did you know that Skyservice won the national 2011 title in the Czech Republic? posted: Sep 4th, 2011 The national championships in the Czech Republic went by almost unnoticed while the teams from the United Kingdom and from Germany received all the attention. Several countries held their nationals after the World Cup 2011, and the Czech Republic was one of those.
Skyservice, the Czech national 4way champion between 2005 and 2008 came back to win this year's title and take it away from the Bad Boys. The 2010 champion has a new team member, as the NSL News reported earlier this year, and the new lineup is in a building phase. Skyservice took advantage of the situation and walked away with the... Did you know that the future looks bright for UK 4way competition? posted: Sep 2nd, 2011 The NSL News goes back to the UK Nationals 2011, which was the biggest 4way competition of the 2011 season so far. Only the USPA Nationals 2011 might still be able to count more then 55 4way teams.
The AA Class competition was very exciting this year, with the standard across all teams much higher than in the past years. Full Stop, player-coached by AAA Class champion Ian "Milko" Hodgkinson of Satori, dominated from start to finish as expected, following their stunning performance at the World Challenge 2011. Full Stop now won the outdoor meet with a 29-point lead and a 16.1 average. The videos... (more)
Did you know that the Usual Suspects went from Plan A to Plan D? posted: Sep 2nd, 2011 Eight rounds have been completed at the German Nationals 2011, and Paratec-Saar had to accept another round without the highscore. Final Four DeLand stole another point and reduced the deficit to nine points with the team's first sole highscore for a round in this meet. However, the national team with substitute and a switched exit slot is still performing so solidly that nobody seriously considers a change on the very top of leaderboard in the last two rounds.
This does not count for the ongoing race for the 2nd and 3rd place where one of the three teams will end up without a medal. Final Four... (more)
