Did you know that 218 World Team members connected in DeLand? posted: Apr 4th, 2012 The NSL News reported on 30 March 2012 that 222 World Team members tried to set a new Florida State Record in DeLand. BJ Worth and his sector and plane captains (Roger Ponce de Leon, Patrick Passe, Mike Johnston, Sven Mortberg, Herman Landsman, Alia Veselova, Lesley Gale, Victor Kravtsov, Rob Laidlaw, Lou Tommaso, Lise Nansen, Derek Thomas, Stephane Mattoni, Dave Ruffell, Alberto Alibrandi) were in charge to put the dives together and make it happen.

Did you know that the Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders have caught up with the original lineup of 2010? posted: Apr 3rd, 2012 The NSL News story on 14 March 2012 was a preview of the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012 and included a live NSL Talk with the Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders. The French team was preparing for the competition in DeLand.
It was not a very challenging task for reigning world champion Amélie Tirman and her three new team mates (Laurence Herve, Perrine Sanchez, Stéphanie Texier) plus videographer Rémy Grandcler, to win the meet in the female 4way category, as the competition from Norway (Polaris), USA (Golden Knights) and Canada (Crimson Fox) was not strong enough to get close to the French... Did you know that the different helmet colors have a much longer history? posted: Apr 2nd, 2012 The NSL News pointed out during the aftermath of the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012 that Arizona Airspeed competed with a new helmet design for the whole team. The story on 26 March 2012 provided the details.
The same story mentioned that Airspeed is not the first top team that used different colors to make identification of the individuals easier. Sky Panthers Barkli have been using the same concept for many years and are still applying it. However, even the Sky Panthers were not the first ones, and the story goes much farther back in time.

Did you know that nothing seems impossible for France? posted: Apr 1st, 2012 The latest NSL News contribution for the Blue Skies Mag and the "Turning Points" column goes back to the more competitive part of Formation Skydiving. In fact, it is once again the most competitive part where the best teams in the world compete for the gold medals at world championships, nothing less.
Not even the top spot in the world has been challenging enough for some of the most extraordinary athletes in Formation Skydiving competition. Did you know that SDC Rhythm XP keeps posting new team highscores? posted: Mar 31st, 2012 Only three of the 15 teams in the 4way Open Class competition at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012 came from the United States, Arizona Airspeed, SDC Rhythm XP and Carolina Turbo XP. The Golden Knights did not compete in 4way since they wanted to fully focus on the 8way competition with Sky Panthers Barkli from Russia.
All three US teams improved their scoring level of the USPA Nationals 2011, even though the competition draw in DeLand was not faster at all. In fact, their meet averages at the Paraclete Outdoor Championship 2012 were new team records for all three teams.

Did you know that the Irish delegation for the World Challenge keeps growing? posted: Mar 30th, 2012 The field of teams at the Shamrock Showdown 2011 included a team from Ireland for the first time, while the World Challenge had the first team from UK's neighbor island at the 2010 event. The number went up to three teams at the World Challenge 2011.
Fast Air competed in the AAA Class, Kinetix in the A Class and NYOL (Noo Your Other Left) in the Rookie Class. This was enough reason for the NSL News to gather the complete Irish delegation for a live NSL Talk last year.
The teams from Ireland are now making the next step up, and the World Challenge 2012 will be the first time in the history... (more)
