News Article Did you know that Satori helped 10 Academy teams while posting the 20.0 average at the UK Nationals 2012?
posted: Aug 19th, 2012 The NSL News reported on 21 July 2012 that UK 4way champion Satori had seven Academy teams at the July meet in Hibaldstow and followed up with a review of Satori's performance at the same event on 27 July 2012. Then the NSL News covered the UK Nationals 2012 with the first story on 13 August 2012, which was mostly related to the female 4way competition between Sweden's guest team Fire and UK's national team Bodyflight Aerodyne Langar. It is about time to catch up with other parts of the record breaking event, as 72 teams competed in Hibaldstow and brought the number for the highest attendance... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Paratec-Saar/EADS combination continues to win 4way and 8way in Germany?
posted: Aug 18th, 2012 The German Nationals 2012 are over, at least in 4way. The last two rounds in 8way still need to be completed and will offer as little surprises as the 4way competition did. The only news, and that was not good news, was the absence of Germany's promising female 4way team ISB Air Remscheid, who had to cancel in the last minute, as the NSL News reported earlier. Paratec-Saar walked away once again with the 4way title, even though their 8way partners of EADS were challenging the national team here and there. The German 8way lineup eventually captured the 8way title and took the first two places... (more)
News Article Did you know that Alan Butt turns the Midwest Skydiving League over to JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz?
posted: Aug 17th, 2012 Several other meets took place in the USA last weekend, while national championships in Europe caught a lot of the NSL News attention. The leaderboard shows a total of additional 28 teams who used the synchronized competition draw. One of those meets took place at the Chicagoland Skydiving Center. Midwest Skydiving League Director Alan Butt reported that three teams returned to Chicagoland Skydiving’s new location in Rochelle, Illinois, this past Saturday for the August meet. The turnout was light, but the weather was perfect and the dropzone was very busy, he said. The Angry Birds, who... (more)
News Article Did you know that Norway's 8way competition was the highlight for six freeflyers?
posted: Aug 16th, 2012 Like last year, the Norwegian Nationals 2012 were organized by the Tønsberg Fallskjermklubb which is located in Tønsberg, a city approximately one hour southwest of Oslo. It is the home dropzone of DeLand Norgies members Lise Nansen and Carl-Erik Tuv and the home of the one and only Norwegian Twin Otter. The Tønsberg Fallskjermklubb is also one of the Polaris sponsors. Norway's national team in the female 4way category spent two weeks at the dropzone in July and made 83 jumps despite sometimes challenging weather conditions. Four teams signed up for the 4way AAA/Open Class competition... (more)
News Article Did you know that ISB Air Remschied is missing on the top of the German leaderboard?
posted: Aug 15th, 2012 The German Nationals 2012 are now in full swing after several other European countries have recently determined their national 4way and 8way champions. There are no surprises on the leaderboard after Round 5. The best German 4way teams are all in perfect order according to previous scores and expectations. Bronze medalist of the World Cup 2011, Paratec-Saar, is competing with the original and complete lineup. ISB Air Remscheid member Petra van Overveld had helped out last year at the national championship when Dieter Schwarz was not available. Paratec-Saar has allowed EADS to tie a round... (more)
News Article Did you know that Bardagi won the Swedish Nationals 2012?
posted: Aug 14th, 2012 The Swedish Nationals 2012 were completed at the end of July, and Fire's recent attendance at the UK Nationals 2012 brought the NSL News attention back to Scandinavia. The NSL News reported on 7 May 2012 that Sweden's national 4way team in the Open Class, Bardagi, had a late start into the 2012 season. The scores at the Swedish Nationals 2012 would be the team's first ones this year. There was no doubt that Bardagi would once again be the strongest team in Sweden this year after coming back with the same lineup as in 2011, and the 16.6 average at the end of July is identical with the Bardagi...
