News Article Did you know that SOCOM member Juan Lopez made a big step last weekend?
posted: Aug 24th, 2012 Another quick update is overdue after last weekend's meets. The Florida Skydiving League competed together with the teams from the Czech Republic and had bad luck with Florida's summer weather on Saturday. Bob Byrne reported from Skydive City that he had five teams present and ready to go on Saturday. The weather did not allow the completion of any rounds, and only two teams were prepared to come back on Sunday. The new Rookie Class lineup from Skydive City, Pyro4ic, is a team formed by Z-Scrambles and FSL Tunnel Kicker participants. Laura Song helped as a player coach guiding the team through... (more)
News Article Did you know that the first SkyQuest Germany day brought the first highlights for the participants?
posted: Aug 23rd, 2012 The NSL News goes back to SkyQuest Germany after an excursion to Lithuania earlier today. The first day of the event turned out to become almost a highlight in itself, while there are three more days to come. The first update earlier today reported great weather and great conditions for a successful skydiving event, and nothing changed in the course of the day. In addition, reigning 8way world cahmpion Martial Ferre and Dave Lewis from England guided many of the participants in Magdeburg to the best skydives in their career at this very early point in time. Then there was ISB Air Remscheid... (more)
News Article Did you know that Equinox had Rookie Class company in Lithuania?
posted: Aug 23rd, 2012 It happened as it was hoped for in Lithuania: a second team has joined Equinox at the meet weekends. Lithuania ran three meets this year, which were attended only by Equinox and the country's FAI judge, Jurate Janušauskiene, before a second lineup eventually formed. Julija Grinevska, Mindaugas Civilis, Gediminas Puplevicius, Aurimas Kalinka and Piotras Bukinas on camera competed for the first time at the last meet of the 2012 season. Both teams were planning to complete six rounds, but the weather stopped the teams once again after Round 5. Equinox member Algimantas Skuodis said that it... (more)

The weather in Magdeburg was perfect at arrival time Wednesday evening, and the AN 28 lifted ISB Air Remscheid up to competition altitude in less than ten minutes for training jumps. The weather was just as good on Thursday morning, and French 8way world champion Martial Ferre and Dave Lewis began to organize their groups, while the German 4way team resumed their training and coaching. News Article Did you know that Lize/Skyservice/Skywalkers added another Czech 4way title to the team's collection?
posted: Aug 22nd, 2012 The national championship of the Czech Republic brought together most of the teams who competed at the previous meets of the regular season and two new team names. Another new team, the one on the top of the AAA Class leaderboard, is only a new name for a lineup of competitors who have dominated 4way competition in the Czech Republic in the past decade. Lize consisted of Tomáš Beroušek (Center Outside), Jirí Jirman (Point), Jan Lukavec (Center Inside) , Štepán Tuma (Tail), with Petr Brož on camera. They were actually the defending national champions of 2011 when they won with a 10.9... (more)
News Article Did you know that that the National Skydiving League has its roots in Fussball?
posted: Aug 20th, 2012 The same question has come up to the NSL News many times: "Where did the National Skydiving League actually come from?" Blue Skies Mag asked the NSL News and founder Kurt Gaebel one more time, and the answer came with some more background information for the August issue of the monthly magazine. It all started with the idea of copying what other sports have had in place for a long time. One of those team sports is Soccer, also called Fussball in Germany. The Fussball-Bundesliga was the first model for a format that turned out to become the National Skydiving League. It took a while before... (more)
