News Article Did you know that Mattias Nord and Kenneth Eriksson had a Volo reunion with Echochamber in Roosendaal?
posted: Nov 28th, 2023 ISR FireFlash and Out Of The Blue did not have a real battle in their competition for the 1st place at the ISR Grand Prix 2023, as the NSL News reported on Sunday. Even OOTB's new indoor team record average (26.6) was not enough to threaten ISR FireFlash who came to Roosendaal with fresh competition experiences from the Weembinamic 2023. The Belgians won seven of the eight rounds and allowed the Dutch team only to tie one highscore in Round 6. However, there was a very close battle between Echochamber from Sweden and NMP PCH HayaBusa for the 3rd place that ended with a 1-point difference. It... (more)
News Article Did you know that French national 4-way members had an 8-way team at the Weembinamic?
posted: Nov 27th, 2023 The competition between ISR FireFlash and Weembi Unicorns ended up with a 2-point difference on the traditional leaderboard, which is close enough for a closer look. However, it was only caused by the weak FireFlash start, as Sven Ibens explained live a few days ago. The Belgian team won the other eight rounds over Unicorns by a total of 14 points and never looked back. Any 2-point difference at the end of a competition includes an interesting meet story, even though this one was not really detected during the Weembinamic action, as the competition format features elimination duels, where a... News Article Did you know that ISR FireFlash and OOTB both finished with Grand Prix record averages?
posted: Nov 26th, 2023 Sven Ibens recapitulated his live experiences with ISR FireFlash at the Weembinamic 2023 during the recent NSL Live Talk. He mentioned that his team would be back in 4-way action just a day after the interview, less than a week after the completion of the previous competition at Weembi Lille in France. ISR FireFlash would have to switch back from the special Weembinamic format to the traditional one in Roosendaal. He explained that there is a different psychology between the two different formats, even though the sequences are being drawn from the same dive pool, and the technical execution... (more)
News Article Did you know that ISR FireFlash's Sven Ibens told the Weembinamic 4-way story?
posted: Nov 24th, 2023 The NSL News goes back to the 4-way competition at the Weembinamic 2023 after the excursion to the 8-way action at the same event. ISR FireFlash member Sven Ibens witnessed the exciting event at Weembi Lille from the very beginning to the very end, and he was available to share his experiences with the NSL News. The NSL News covered the FireFlash journey from a weak start to the 2nd place with the update on November 22nd, and Sven Ibens provided more details of the event story. He had very interesting insights to share that were related to the psychology of the different competition format. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that Veloce QRF upset the order of the Weembinamic 8-way leaderboard?
posted: Nov 23rd, 2023 The outcome of the 8-way competition at the Weembinamic 2023 featured the upset of the traditional leaderboard, after it happened in 4-way at the Weembinamic 2022. The NSL News pointed out with yesterday's 4-way update that the same three 4-way teams were on the podium in the same order that the traditional leaderboard was showing. The situation in 8-way was still the same as it was in 4-way though, as the winners had no serious opposition with their significant leads on the traditional leaderboard after all ten rounds. They were logically also not eliminated in any of the three 2-round duels.... (more)
News Article Did you know that ISR FireFlash is back in top level action?
posted: Nov 22nd, 2023 The first NSL News update from the Weembinamic 2023 covered the situation after Round 4, which was the end of the qualification in the format that the event has applied since it was launched in 2016. The remaining six rounds were elimination duels between two or three teams following a similar bracket system as the one at the NSL Championship 2000. The traditional leaderboard of the first four rounds becomes history when the scores are wiped out after Round 4 at the Weembinamic, as well as the scores of each of the next two rounds in the elimination duels, at least for the continuation in the...
