posted: Sep 21st, 2024 The ESL Championship 2024 was already concluded on Saturday, after perfect weather conditions on Friday and Saturday allowed meet director Mike Pennock to complete all ten rounds for all 16 teams at the end of Saturday and open up the evening for the award ceremony and event party at the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar (FSZ Saar). The final leaderboard matched the NSL Power Rankings of the preview quite accurately. Did you know that the ESL Championship features a high-profile and colorful AAA Class field?
posted: Sep 21st, 2024 This weekend features the comeback of the ESL Championship, as the NSL News reported on June 20th. Another preview on July 19th added that the Qatar delegation will send the Lions and the Cheetahs to the event that is being hosted once again by the Fallschirmsportzentrum Saar (FSZ Saar). The last European Skydiving League Championship was held in Spa 2019, the previous one in Saarlouis 2018. It is an annual event that offers teams the opportunity of an international high-profile competition who cannot attend the FAI world cups or world championships. posted: Sep 19th, 2024 The 8-way competition at the German Outdoor Nationals 2024 caught the attention of the NSL News several times in the run-up to the competition. The duel between Operation Adler and the Airbus 8-way lineup became even more of a drama than expected, and the NSL News will follow up later with the details of it. Eventually, the defending champions of Operation Adler won the special internal qualification and will compete for Germany at the FAI Outdoor World Championships 2024. posted: Sep 18th, 2024 The 4-way Open Class competition at the USPA National Championship 2024 did not offer any surprises on the very top of the leaderboard, where Arizona Airspeed once again confirmed the world's current leadership, this time with the sole highscores for all ten rounds and a 25.8 average. The world's two highest meet averages of the 2024 season have been posted by the old and new USPA champions, first 28.2 at the Shamrock Showdown 2025, now followed by 25.8 last weekend. posted: Sep 17th, 2024 The story of the USPA Advanced Class championship was not over after Ben Liston reported the violation of the USPA rules to his former Mass Defiance team mate Jim Rees, who was in the jury for the event. The award ceremony was already completed, scoresheets signed and approved, medals handed out, and the first 8-way day had gone by when Ben Liston was informed of the rules situation by a fellow competitor. Chicken Bolts were retroactively moved from 1st place on the Advanced Class leaderboard to the bottom as a guest team, and Air Raid XP became the new USPA Advanced Class champion of 2024. There... posted: Sep 16th, 2024 The NSL News begins catching up with the 4-way opening ceremony, followed by the awards in all four horizontal Formation Skydiving categories. In between these two events were ten completed rounds of the 48 teams this year. No extra rounds were necessary, even though there was very tight competition for the AA/Intermediate Class medals and in the A/Beginner Class. The AAA/Advanced Class competition only became very interesting after all ten rounds were completed, and the medals were already handed out.
