News Article Did you know that NMP PCH HayaBusa's 33.2 average at the Wind Games is the highest in history?
posted: Feb 5th, 2018 The NSL News mentioned briefly in the first summary of the Wind Games 2018 that NMP PCH HayaBusa finished with a historic 33.2 average. It is a historic number since no 4-way team has ever posted a higher 10-round average. The new world record average was not generated due to an extremely fast competition draw. There was no real Super Sequence with only random formations, even though Round 5 (D,B,9,N) was a serious scoring opportunity. Most of the teams finished close to their best averages, and a few posted new team records, including the reigning indoor and outdoor world champions from Belgium. HayaBusa... (more)
News Article Did you know that Hurricane Factory and Paraclete XP are tied on the ICL 14+ January leaderboard?
posted: Feb 4th, 2018 It does not happen very often that there is a major indoor event without any teams from the Czech Republic. The leaderboard of the Wind Games 2018 did not show any Czech teams, after a visit of HF Chicks and Bad Boys in Empuriabrava in 2015 and the HF Chicks again in 2017. This does not mean that the Czech teams did not recently compete. They had their Word Tunnel League meet with 13 teams, and 12 teams performed the January sequences of the Indoor Cloud League, as the NSL News reported on 31 January 2018. The next WTL meet is coming up at the Hurricane Factory this week. The NSL News... (more)
News Article Did you know that there was motion on the Wind Games leaderboard only behind the Top 3?
posted: Feb 3rd, 2018 The Wind Games 2018 are over, and the first 2018 scores of the world's best 4-way teams are on the leaderboard. Not too much changed or turned out differently on the very top after yesterday's half-time update. Arizona Airspeed's new lineup won its first round over NMP PCH HayaBusa and added two more tied rounds on the second day with the highest indoor average at a regular 10-round indoor meet in Airspeed history. As expected, Airspeed also cut the distance to HayaBusa after ten rounds to under 20 points. On the other side, and on the very top of the leaderboard, HayaBusa finished with another... (more)
News Article Did you know that there is drama on all areas of the Wind Games leaderboard?
posted: Feb 2nd, 2018 It's difficult to see progress if your are ten points behind the leader at half-time, who has also claimed or tied the highscores for all rounds. That's the situation of Arizona Airspeed behind NMP PCH HayaBusa after Round 5 at the Wind Games 2018. However, a closer look at the history between the two teams makes it look better for the U.S. team than it first appears to be. The distance is exactly the same as it was after Round 5 at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017, where the last showdown between the two top contenders took place. There is still a difference, which is not only the fact that... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Qatar Tigers have taken Chimera's Top 10 spot of the NSL Power Rankings for the Wind Games?
posted: Feb 1st, 2018 The field of 4-way teams at the Wind Games 2018 had a few changes after the NSL News posted the first power rankings on 27 January 2018. The story that included the NSL Live Talk with NMP PCH HayaBusa a few days later zoomed in on the expected Top 10 at the first major indoor event of the 2018 season in Empuriabrava. The preview mentioned that the Qatar Tigers was the only Top 5 team of the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017 in Montreal that was not registered for the Wind Games. Fortunately, the NSL Power Rankings was not complete at that time, and the Qatar Tigers still added their name to the... (more)
News Article Did you know that a Bad Boys/Flying Circus 2-2 combination tested the new 2019 blocks at the Hurricane Factory?
posted: Jan 31st, 2018 The Indoor Cloud League results on the last two 14+ leaderboards of the 2017 season were apparently alarming enough for the Czech ICL team at the Hurricane Factory in Prague. Paraclete XP had outscored the Czech team two times in November and December, after three other first places on the 14+ leaderboards of earlier months. Jan Klapka mobilized the highest number of Czech 4-way teams ever to perform the first six 2018 sequences in January. It was a fierce competition between the Czech teams to make it onto the ICL 14+ leaderboard for January, and only five of the 12 teams won the honor to... (more)
