News Article Did you know that 48 teams plan to compete at the indoor world cup in April?
posted: Feb 17th, 2022 The 4-way indoor winter season has been in full swing, and several countries are running their national indoor championships before the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022 takes place in April at Airspace in Charleroi, Belgium. Most of the national indoor championships are not the qualification events for this year's indoor world cup, as there would not be much time between qualification and the FAI/ISC event in April. The indoor world meet of 2023 is the qualification goal for the recent events, just as last year's national outdoor championships were mostly the qualifiers for the FAI World Championship... (more)
News Article Did you know that Pete Allum provided insights of the British Indoor Nationals 2022?
posted: Feb 16th, 2022 The British Indoor Nationals used to be a part of the annual World Challenge in Bedford, the largest 4-way competition in the world and in history, first unofficially, later as a championship event for the British 4-way teams. The host eventually added an 8-way competition to the event, as well. The last World Challenge, after a change of ownership, took place in April 2019, just a week before theFAI Indoor World Meet at Weembi Lille. There were still 71 teams from 20 different countries in Bedford in 2019 before the event was discontinued. No indoor championships were scheduled in 2020 and... (more)

posted: Feb 15th, 2022 At its summer 2020 meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, the USPA Board of Directors voted to bestow Kurt Gaebel, D-18635, with the organization's Gold Medal for Meritorious Service. USPA presents this prestigious award to a maximum of three recipients per year who "by their efforts over a period of years, have made significant contributions to the skydiving community." News Article Did you know that Piteraq took the 4-way Women top spot from Skynamite in Germany?
posted: Feb 15th, 2022 The NSL News posted an update from Germany a few days ago, which explained the changes in the lineup of the national 8-way team, Airbus Oceanside Illertissen. Team captain Thomas Spielvogel confirmed the information and had additional news. The story also provided a brief overview of the recent events and of the other German national teams. Nothing has changed in 4-way Open, while the situation in 4-way Women has been a little bit more complicated. Three different teams have been competing for the two slots as the national teams at FAI/ISC indoor and outdoor events. The outdoor situation... (more)
News Article Did you know that the next XP8 vs. Russia 8-way showdown could become even more exciting?
posted: Feb 14th, 2022 Craig Girard's recent move to take the last slot of the new XP8 lineup for the 2022 world meet season was covered comprehensively by the NSL News, first after team captain Kirk Verner's update on February 4th, then with a follow-up story on a few days later. It will be impossible to go into all details of all stories in all areas where Craig Girard has left his mark in the 41 years that he has spent in the sport. The best overview of his career that the NSL News can offer is probably in his NSL Profile, even though it only covers his part in Formation Skydiving competition. The NSL Profile... (more)
News Article Did you know that Max Thiele and Göran Meyer are back in 8-way action for Airbus Illertissen?
posted: Feb 12th, 2022 The last two updates from Germany came in December last year, after a turbulent 2021 outdoor season. Both reigning 4-way champions of 2019, Oceanside AtomiX in 4-way Open and Skynamite in 4-way Women, lost their titles at the German Outdoor Nationals 2021. There were no national championships in 2020, and the new champions and national teams were the winners of last year's event. The complete German Formation Skydiving delegation also canceled the participation at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 in August last year, and the national championships in September were a fresh start, which generated the...
