News Article Did you know that Martial Ferre still owns the unofficial 8-way indoor world record for a single round?
posted: Jul 25th, 2022 The NSL News is going back to the coverage of the 8-way competition of the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2022 while the first scores of the Pre-Nationals 2022 have been posted and before the combined leaderboard will be complete. The first preview of the event on February 22nd had introduced a record number of six Veloce QRF 8-way lineups, which used to be mostly visitors from France and other European countries for the 8-way project that Martial Ferre has been organizing for several years. The original QRF project turned into the 8-way Hell Weak at Paraclete XP's 16-foot flying chamber,... (more)
News Article Did you know that Omni, Chimera and NFTO were on the same British leaderboard in February?
posted: Jul 22nd, 2022 The pursuit of two different sets of gold medals at FAI World Championships of Formation Skydiving has been a regular topic for the NSL News since Mathieu Bernier accomplished this for the first and only time in Menzelinsk 2010. There have been several other teams and competitors who have won silver and bronze in 4-way and 8-way at the same world meet, while the double-gold is still the most special and unlikely goal. In fact, double-silver just happened again at the FAI Tanay Mondial last August, where three members of the French lineup in 4-way Women placed 2nd in 4-way and in 8-way. It... (more)
News Article Did you know that Skydive Midwest NEXT members had an internal RRR Class competition?
posted: Jul 20th, 2022 Two very small meets took place last weekend, and were not connected within the NSL Network to create a larger leaderboard. Sweden held the country's national 4-way championships at a different location, the skydiving center in Vargarda, after many years in Gryttjom. The different location did not change the outcome, as Echochamber won their 5th consecutive national 4-way title since 2017. The team was formed in 2016 and won their first Swedish gold medals a year later. They attended their first world meet for Sweden in Australia 2018 and would have competed at the FAI Tanay Mondial in August... (more)
News Article Did you know that Craig Girard cannot be challenged by the team he was coaching?
posted: Jul 19th, 2022 It was an exciting perspective for the near 8-way future when Craig Girard joined the XP8 lineup after the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020, as the NSL News reported on February 14th. Arizona Airspeed had decided to focus only on 4-way training and competition, and XP8 needed replacements for 8-way world champions Niklas Hemlin, Mikhail Markine and Christopher Kuhlmann. Craig Girard was one of them, and he joined the team together with Matt Davidson and Andrew Happick. Craig Girard has a long history with the Russian 8-way teams as his opponents at world meets, which began with the Golden Knights in... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Pre-Nationals leaderboard is shaping up?
posted: Jul 19th, 2022 The end of this week is featuring the start of the Pre-Nationals 2022, with a live 4-way competition in Texas and the online extension on the NSL leaderboard. As usual at live events and in the NSL 4-way Network, the competition draw will be posted on Friday at the end of the day. Round 1 is scheduled for Saturday morning, which breaks at different times on the planet. The teams at the live event in Texas complete the ten rounds on the weekend, while the teams at other remote locations across the world have the option to join on the first weekend or use the following week and/or weekend (July... News Article Did you know that Nice Odin Weembi had a very colorful lineup at the Weembi FS Cup?
posted: Jul 18th, 2022 The NSL News coverage of the Weembi FS Cup 2022 at the end of April had The Monaco MAT Team as the main topic, even though the new lineup of the French national team in 4-way Women, the Nephtys, attended the same competition, their third indoor meet this year, and they took the 1st place. The Nephtys had already transitioned to outdoor training and competition at the time of the Weembi FS Cup, and the lineup of the Mattoni Team alone was interesting enough for a complete NSL News update. Neither Nephtys, nor Weembi Unicorns in 2nd place, and not even the Mattoni Team could match the most... (more)
