News Article Did you know that 4-way Open keeps going strongly at the FAI Outdoor World Meet?
posted: Oct 15th, 2022 The NSL News reported in earlier previews of the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2022 that two of the three events in Formation Skydiving competition, 8-way Open and 4-way Women, are matching the lowest number of participating countries in the history of the sport. The lowest point was after the pandemic at the FAI Tanay Mondial, where a total of 23 countries sent teams to compete in the four Formation Skydiving events (4-way Open, 4-way Women, 4-way VFS, 8-way). The total of 35 teams this year is the lowest number since the inclusion of 4-way VFS in 2010. There is also very good news though, as 4-way... (more)
News Article Did you know that one Air Force 4-way member won silver 20 years ago at USPA Nationals?
posted: Oct 14th, 2022 The annual International Skydiving Museum's Hall of Fame Celebration that the NSL News covered two days ago was also an opportunity for all generations of skydivers from across the planet to meet and greet, this time at Skydive DeLand and at the Hilton Daytona Beach Ocean Resort. Some of the visitors just wanted to experience the induction of their friends and role models, the celebrities in the sport, in the Hall Of Fame. Emily Bombardi and Eric Daniel, two names that have appeared increasingly in the recent NSL News, came to Florida for that reason, and it offered the NSL News at the same... (more)
News Article Did you know that only one of three 8-way teams can win the FAI bronze medals?
posted: Oct 13th, 2022 The Indoor Cloud League update on October 3rd explained the delay of the Paraclete XP data for the months of July and August. In the meantime, a new preview of the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2022 including the NSL Power Rankings in 4-way Women, provided more evidence for the challenge that XPG4 will be facing in Eloy. However, Jeana Billings, Brenn Richards and Anna Brunner still managed to add the Indoor Cloud League scores and videos for the month of September to the 2022 leaderboard, after running their ICL event at Paraclete XP in the middle of their outdoor training. Michelle Karamon was... (more)
News Article Did you know that Eliana Rodriguez, Solly Williams and Pete Allum were celebrated last Saturday?
posted: Oct 12th, 2022 The space for the audience is limited at the annual International Skydiving Museum's Hall of Fame Celebration, and traveling is necessary to be a part of the event. This year, Skydive DeLand hosted the skydiving activities that were attached to the 2022 celebration, and the actual induction of the new class took place at the Hilton Daytona Beach Ocean Resort, barely over a week after Hurricane Ian had visited the same place. Skydive DeLand had re-opened their facilities a few days after the passing of the storm, and the beach resort did not suffer any serious damage. There was nothing in the... (more)
News Article Did you know that the ICL Midwest team was back in full strength in September?
posted: Oct 12th, 2022 The ICL Midwest team, with all Skydive Midwest NEXT members organizing and coaching at the Indoor Cloud League events, had dedicated two of the Rookie Class sequences in August to new 4-way competitors, and they left the AAA/AA lineup on their own and without a NEXT player-coach. The Rookie Class sequences are meant to introduce new fliers to 4-way training and competition, as well as the other sequences are an opportunity for any 4-way competitors to familiarize with the respective dive pools and new challenges. However, logical result of the August situation at the ICL Midwest event was a... (more)
News Article Did you know that the race for FAI gold in 4-way Women is on?
posted: Oct 10th, 2022 Round 1 of the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2022 is little over ten days away and scheduled for the morning of October 21st. It is time to direct more attention to the most relevant event in Formation Skydiving competition. There were recently good news coming from Great Britain, where the national team in 4-way Women, NFTO, confirmed their participation in the world meet, after a time period of question marks behind the appearance of the team at Skydive Arizona. NFTO is one of the three top contenders for the FAI gold medals in 4-way Women, together with the French national team (Nephtys) and... (more)
