News Article Did you know that Snapsi PD posted the highest score of round three at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005?
posted: Apr 4th, 2005 The AAA Class competition of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005 did not offer new surprises in round three. DeLand Fire confirmed the team's top position after surprising the field by taking the lead in round two. In fact, Fire added one point to the lead over the Golden Knights. However, DeLand Fire's 24 points were not the highest score of the round this time. The Italian national 4-way team, Sinapsi PD, made its first 2005 statement in this third jump of the 10-round competition. The NSL News had introduced the Sinapsi PD plans with a complete story on January 28. NSL News stories in December... (more)
News Article Did you know that that a Canadian T can be dangerous on April Fool's Day?
posted: Apr 2nd, 2005 It was a bizarre day for DeLand Fire on April 1, 2005. The winner of the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005 had scheduled a 2-day training camp for Thursday and Friday. Cross training was on the agenda, and alternate Thomas Hughes filled in for Shannon Pilcher who had other work commitments on site the same days. Friday, April 1, was also Pilcher's birthday. The different line-up for these two days was a good opportunity for DeLand Fire to train different slots. Ian Bobo switched from Tail to the Center Inside position, while alternate and videographer Thomas Hughes took the Tail slot. The front piece... (more)

News Article Did you know that the infringement was in the inter of the second Block 17?
posted: Mar 31st, 2005 Yesterday's NSL News story mentioned that there would be a new judging quiz and case study coming up. DeLand Majik lost a point due to an infringement related to Block 17 (Danish T - Murphy) in round two. There has not been too much discussion of the topic in the NSL Forum yet. However, the "where and what" of the infringement has not been revealed yet. It surely is not easy to find the flaw. It happens at the Block 17 maneuver on the second page. The first thing that probably caught the judge's attention is the fact that the grip sequence building the Danish T is different compared to the Danish... (more)

posted: Mar 30th, 2005 The NSL-TV coverage of the SSL Valentine's Meet has been completed, it is time to move on with the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005. Round two of the DeLand meet has been uploaded and can now be viewed. It was only the second out of ten rounds in the 2-day competition. However, the five top teams had already settled in the final rankings after the first round, and the second round only confirmed what would become the rankings after ten rounds. Only DeLand Majik and Team Fastrax were still tied in fourth place. Majik was actually already faster than Fastrax in round two but lost a point due to an infringement.... (more)
News Article Did you know that the difference between 20 and 22 average are the mistakes you make?
posted: Mar 29th, 2005 The Golden Knights competed at the SSL Valentine's Meet 2005 in February and then at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005 in March. The NSL News story of March 22 included a first evaluation of the Army team's performance in DeLand and briefly compared the results of both meets. The Golden Knights began a spring training camp of two weeks with the competition in DeLand. All team members visited at the NSL office a few days after the event when the weather did not allow any training activities at the drop zone around the corner. The NSL News used the opportunity to ask questions "on record". (more)
