News Article Did you know that the CanAm meet included a lot of waiting time?
posted: Jun 21st, 2005 The first meet of the 2005 CanAm season was beset by the same conditions that many of the previous meets had also suffered: Low, solid clouds. Three AAA Class teams patiently waited for the weather to clear. Two veterans of the CanAm league, Team Go (Bob Semmens, Rob Murray, Randy Wurzburger, Robert Bilinsky and Adam Grainger on video) and Vertical Descent (Rob Stipsits, Ellen Komejin, Ahmed Kolb, Mike Pitt and Brad Vale on video) were present. The third team was Evolution (Martin Lemay, Vincent Lemay, Michel Lemay, Francois Pigeon and Peter Toutoudakis on video) who made the 7-hour trek from... (more)
News Article Did you know that the Midwest Skydiving League had record participation and record scores?
posted: Jun 21st, 2005 At the May 23 meet the MWSL took part in the new NSL record of 81 teams participating in a single weekend. This past Saturday the MWSL set its own record when a total of 10 teams came to compete at Meet 2 at Chicagoland Skydiving Center. The MWSL's streak of good meet weather continued as Saturday was a virtually perfect day for jumping in the Midwest, a rarity in 2005. All eight teams from Meet One returned and were joined by two additional teams: the Has-Beens (Lem Castro, Tim McKee, Julian Dawson, Tom Bohm) made up of some of the most experienced 4-way competitors in the Midwest and Chasing... News Article Did you know that last weekend's coverage begins with record participation in the Northern Plains?
posted: Jun 20th, 2005 The NPSL had a record turnout of nine 4-way teams show up at Skydive Twin Cities in Baldwin Wisconsin. Even so, the excellent organization by manifest and sunny weather allowed us to complete the entire meet in a single day and still keep SDTC's regular business moving with the one Twin Otter. Skydive Twin Cities just a week ago witnessed a Class 2 tornado that touched down just a couple miles to the west. Luckily, this weekend was all sunshine. (more)
News Article Did you know that Joey Jones and Thomas Hughes are turning 4-way upside down?
posted: Jun 17th, 2005 The NSL News story of June 17 did not mention another new team that has signed up for tomorrow's competition of the Florida Skydiving League at Skydive City. The reason was that "Black Magick" did not know exactly which competition class would be best fit for the team's skills. Two of the team members have enough 4-way experience, however, the decision was still not easy to make. Black Magick consists of Thomas Hughes (Outside Center), Joey Jones (Inside Center), Juliana Se (Tail) and Joel Tambor (Point). The team had planned to begin the 4-way career in the Rookie Class. The original plan was... (more)

posted: Jun 17th, 2005 The second big meet weekend of the 2005 season will take place at ten different locations this weekend. Nine NSL leagues have scheduled their competitions for June 18-19 , and the Dutch Handicap Competition (DHC) holds its traditional and most popular 4-way event, the Tomscat Trophy, this weekend in the Netherlands, as well. The Tomscat Trophy is an annual event and serves to commemorate the two members of the Dutch 4-way team Tomscat, Remie Herder and Sjaak Strating, who were killed in Perris Valley on April 24th, 1992 in a plane chrash. This was the same plane crash where members of the U.S.... (more)
